Replying to: wwest (Jun 10, 2008 8:29 am) With diesel I know I will pay 12%+/- or so more for fuel, but also will get 30-40% better mileage. GM's new light duty 4.5L diesel is supposed to be getting fairly close to 30mpg in a 4x2 regular cab config. Even if that is high, I bet a Ridgeline diesel could match that. Add in how tuneable diesels are (gain both power and mileage easily), good resale, and with arguably less complexity, and I know where I want to spend my dosh. That said, in primarily city driving hybrids tend to fair better. But in any app that is truck-like or features highway miles, then diesel wins. |
