Replying to: danieldaniel (Jul 20, 2007 7:40 am) You have a 370 cubic inch making as much horespower as a 426 cubic inch,and is just as fast.Plus there were tons of automatic Hemi cars during the 60s and early 70s.If you watch Barett-Jackson,most Hemi cars are automatics.Plus this 5 speed can handle 580 lbs. of torque,thats pretty good.Plus you now have the 5 speed compared to the 3 speed torqueflight,which was a great tranny.So I think I rather have today's Super Bee.I use to have a 68 Road Runner so I lived through the good old days.

Replying to: xtec (Jul 20, 2007 6:39 pm) The W5A580 is rated at 580 Newton Meter and 1 Newton Meter is equal to 0.737 lb-ft. Therefore the maximum torque it can handle is 427 lb-ft which is very near the limits of the SRT8 torque output. I would be worried about transmission life if owners do a lot of WOT.
