Article comments for First Drive: Chevy Camaro Z06 - This 1999 Chevrolet Z28 Camaro is no ordinary used car. It's a freaking street monster; a snarling, mean mother of a street racer that will chew you up and spit you out if you have the temerity to challenge it at a stoplight. (more)
| The article doesn't answer the only item of true interest: the price tag on the LS7 engine, complete with electronics, ready to run. | |

Perhaps Chevrolet will resurrect the ZL-1 trim one of these days/years? :o)

My best friend had a LS1 powered Z28. Of course it was fast but I just couldnt get "connected" to the car. The seating position just plain SUCKED, the manual shifter wasnt anywhere near precise and the chassis had decent roll stiffness but it had a lot of dive/squat. The car never did feel poised or confident and it had a lot of chassis flex. Yes I understand that this car is built to a price and that its main focus was str8 line performance. If GM can improve the chassis substantially, up the build quality and make the interior/car more driver oriented for a decent price then they have a winner. Ive always thought the Mustang GT offered a much better package even thought its always been slower.

passenger comfort is an issue but it is realy a 2 seater not made for haulin kids or friends around. check the camaro's stats and there not bad for a street car. lsi seems to be reliable and ours has done 22mpg since it was new. the camaro could widen it's appeal but often this is a mistake. i think 500hp is to much for the average driver. this would surely be noticed by the insurance industry. with the cost of the car the insurance and the fuel to support 500hp seems a little much for me. |

Hi guys, I was wondering. In the future about 1 year from now I plan on buying a used car/ truck. I plan on spending around 18.000. I own a silverado 4x4 that is pimped out but getting old. It has a 5.3 liter, flowmasters and modified intake air filter. 120000 miles are coming in a few months. I don't use the truck that much but want one that is fast and is as comfortable as my wife's maxima. I don't want to roll into a car as I am 6'3". Is there such a truck that is comfortable and super quick for that price? Or something similiar? I am undecided. Gas isn't an issue, I would rather have quickness than power loss. My buddy has a dodge hemi truck with posi that roasts the tires.Dodge has a bad rep where I live, Any ideas?
