For those of you who purchased extended service/maintenance plans, what did you pay and any experience in using the them?
Are the Security Plus plan and Maintenance Plus plan different plans or same?

"For those of you who purchased extended service/maintenance plans, what did you pay and any experience in using the them? "
I bought a 7 year 100k mile Gold preferred plan from vadennissanwarranty.com No deductible for $1935 My 09 altima hybrid had 1250 miles on it when I bought it. I called in to get a discount from their posted rates. Very friendly people.
Haven't had to use it yet. Hope I never do. I hate driving some vehicle that is not mine.

I bought a 2010 NAH, and negotiated an 8 year, 150,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for $2100. Thats' what sold me on the Alitma....it's bumper to bumper...I looked at the fine print very carefully. Excellent deal. I just have to keep records of my maintenance. E-mail me with any questions ucla54 yahoo .com

I picked up my Nissan Murano SL 2010 AWD tonight in NJ. It's the Merlot with black leather interior - looks really sharp and really like how it drives.
WORDS OF CAUTION: You really have to be careful when you are closing the deal. They will try and rip you off on the Gold Preferred Security+Plus extended warranty, if you haven't done your homework.
I told the service manager when we finalized the 60 mo/%2.9 financing at the end of his pitch that I was going to hold off on the extended warranty for now. The first offers were outrageous. $2500-3000 for the 60 mo/60k mi and they try to get you to roll it right into your monthly finance pymts.
Anyway, found out the cost for the 7yr/100k mi (the max) Gold Preferred Security+Plus is $1397. 6yr/75k mi was $1122. Got him to show me the Nissan factory warranty book. He said he never shows the book to anyone, lol, but he knew I would get the best price online, so why play games. I threw him a c-note on top for his efforts and it was rolled into the finance agreement.
I told the dude, "hey, you are doing your best to make some extra bucks, ain't going to hate on you for that", but I wonder how many people just blindly roll that 2-3k into their deals?
Anyway, the basic warranty should be 5 yr/50k mi, minimum, in my opinion, on all new cars.

I just purchased a 2010 Altima and after finalizing the deal it was off to the finance guy. He did his best to sell me everything including the kitchen sink but I declined and said I'd get back to him.
Came home, jumped online and ending up purchasing a 6 year 100,000 mile Gold Preferred plan from a dealership online. $765 w/$50 deductible plus they financed it for 17 months with 0% interest.
I had talked to a couple different online stores but these guys were by far the best: Nissan Warranty Store it's a dealer in CA
I'm not sure about the Maintenance Plus though, anyone have any experience with it?

I am still on the fence re; extended service contract and the maintenance+plus contract but need to decide soon as the mileage is approaching 3600k.
It seeems like a decent deal w/ maintenance+plus contract since the oil changes and minor/major inspections need to be done anyway, at least if they were done at a Nissan dealership, it would be a savings over the long run.
But then again I do most of the maintenance on my other cars (purchased used) and the only issue would be keeping the new car factory warranty valid if I do all the maintenance at home.
As far as the extended service warranty, I guesss it's an insurance against something going wrong after the factory warranty runs out. If this car was not a hybrid I would definitely not get the extended wrnty, but don't know a thing about the hybrid system.
Sorry for rambling...

"Eligibility for a Nissan Maintenance+Plus plan depends on the vehicle you own. You are eligible for the New vehicle maintenance plans Gold Preferred, Gold and Silver only if your New Nissan has less than 7,500 miles on the odometer or you purchased your Nissan vehicle New within the last 6 months." taken from http://www.vadennissanwarranty.com/nissan-extended-warranty-eligibility.html
Looks like I am not eligible for much on the Nissan maintenance plus side of the fence. Now that you chimed in, you got me thinkin about the cost savings over time. I can however get the Bronze plan which covers my essentials - oil change, oil filter and tire rotations. Just no inspections like that in Silver. Guess I snoozed and lost on that deal.
I think I may call them back and see what I can get 5 years worth of coverage for. May make sense since I do my oil changes at the Nissan dealer anyhow.

Nissan Security+Plus Gold Preferred did not cover the electronical parts of the Hybrid.. it's in the contract.

I got talked into the maintenance plus plan gold 3 yrs 45k and told it would be $20 extra in my payment which would be $1200 over 60 mths. After thinking abt it I wanted to cancel cause I found out it only covered oil and filter pretty much. Tried to cancel couldnt because he rolled it into my payment and Nissan cant see how much it is. After reviewing I realized I forgot to add my interest so the plan actually looks to be about $600 becuase I have a fabric and paint coverage through the dealer for $600. So I still think I over paid but i guess piece of mind is better than none and I never have to pay out cash when ai get it serviced jsut sign a document and keep it moving. I will be researching the extended service plans online which I didnt even know was an option. Thanks! How many miles do u have to purchase the the security plus I was told 3 years.
#730 of 730 Maintenance Plus Gold Preferred

Just bought a 2012 Altima 2.5SL. Thinking about the Gold Preferred Maintenance Plus but there is so much price variance...it scares me. NY dealer wants $2500-2700 for the 5yr, 100k plan. Online, Vaden will give it to me for $1k, no tax, if I pay up front. Just totally confused!
I've been told that if I buy online from Vaden, I can take it to my NY NIssan dealer for service...Any advice???
