gr8 to hear the improvements are with power, always felt it needed 50 more Hp and lb/t, wish the stereo was more bose and less radio shack.....sound is tuly aweful, i have the 06, wish the 08 was feasible but not yet....the MDX, and even the new Hyundai look like good options as does the new Saturn SUV, the outlook.
For me to take another tribeca, i'd need more power still, with even better gas and a way better stereo......subie's always have had crap stereo's, except my '02 VDC with the Mcintosh, why can't they do that again.....with nav and DVD now there's a wow factor.....

I am proud to say that I owned Subaru's from 1993-2003 ranging from the Loyale wagon to the Outback Limited version. I was never disappointed in Subura, the reliability and comfort were always there. I average 30k yearly and was never disappointed. I did stray away to the suv-Toyota Highlander and have to admit I miss the Subaru reliabilty. I am looking forward at the 08-09 Tribeca, 5passenger Limited
version. I would appreciate comments in this area

I have a 2008 7 passenger Ltd. But it is used as a 5 passenger 99% of the time. The other 1% is when we have the grand kids on board. Didn't get the Nav system, rear camera or puddle lights. Did get the factory installed trailer hitch. The only "thing" it needs is a telescoping steering column.

17-18 mpg around town, 22-23 mpg on the freeway at 70-80mph. Great road car, very stable (it's the AWD) in the snow. Great heat/defrosting. Nice having the 3-speed seat heaters. The sport shift is handy for engine braking going down slippery hills (San Francisco of the north-Duluth, MN).

Next year I hope to have a set of Blizzaks on separate wheels- With current financial crisis the tires and wheels are a bit expensive (~$1200).

Hope this helps.......

Those Highlanders are usually reliable, you must've had bad luck.

Any how, prices on the Tribeca are lower so it's not a bad time to go shopping.

If you want to downsize a little then also consider the new Forester. We have a Limited and love ours.
