Now just think what can be done to the Denali. The new LS3 Vette motor is pretty much the same as the Denali motor (L92) as usual they will have plenty of aftermarket support! I can ask for Vette Heads, CAM, Intake Manifold, and stall converter if I want, can you? In other words I can make that Chevy just as fast naturally aspirated as what you could do with blown Blundra and not have to spend near as much! Just think if I put a blower on the Denali after modding the motor. With the Denali there is more potential, just admit it dude! I'll nit pick all I want, I like to talk trucks. I'm not the one going to a Tundra room because I dislike a few things Toyota did. You are just here to bash! After all we are talking about performance right? Anyone into performance knows damn well a turbo and a supercharger are not the same thing. But I guess you have it all figured out. So go right ahead with your twin supercharger setup.... Let me know how that works out!

How much HP do you have to add to that 5.3 L to knock almost 2 and a half seconds off a 1/4 mile time? Thats a pretty good accomplish for as easy as you made it sound Mark. Also I don't know what to tell you on the supercharger big guy but anyone who knows specifics will tell you that a turbocharger is merely a type of a supercharger. The only thing the turbo means is turbine, a turbocharger simply is an exhaust driven turbine supercharger. Don't know what to tell you, I guess you can go look it up and get back to me. Custom tune provides better gains than you would expect from a hypertech style programmer for gas motors if you were to compare the 2. Peak HP will not be increased near as much as the low end power that it takes to get a big truck moving. That 5.3 truck ran 14.6 bone stock at the track with slicks. There is something that a tune gets rid of on stock motors call Tq management. It protects the drive train from stress by reducing wide open throttle power off the line and until a predetermined speed. A tune also gets rid of GM's 4 second delay in open and closed loop fuel mapping this help with fuel economy but kills performance. That's one of the reasons GM has show good fuel economy lately. Besides that they will tweak electronic throttle control and bump up the timing to accommodate whatever octane fuel you chose to run. All of this is probably good for an additional 35 peak Hp on the 5.3 but much more gains in the earlier parts of the power band. It's common for a custom tune to knock a full second off of the 1/4 mile on a GM truck. I will be using "nelson performance" for tuning, Google around some good info on his site…They are getting 40 additional horse power on the dyno from a 6.2 tune, that amounts to about 48Hp at the flywheel if you factor in drive train loss. With headers intake and exhaust I can have the Denali right at 500hp without even going into the motor…not bad for just a few bolt on’s. Imagine a new vette CAM, Vette Heads, and a Supercharger or turbo on top of that... I guess you are missing the point about the S/C & Turbo...Sure they both force air into a motor, but they are diff animals if you are a fan of forced induction...I just never heard of anyone really into performance mix these 2 up...that's why I was giving you a tough time. You will never see a twin supercharger setup for a Tundra...Toyota (TRD) usually goes with roots style supercharger that sits directly on top of the motor… only room for one there. I emailed GM and they indicated they are already available, but I haven't been able to locate one on www.gmbuypower.com. I'm looking for black exterior, cocoa/beige interior, AWD, 20s, and a sunroof. Can't wait to get rid of my 2004 Chevy Silverado 4.8L bone stock LS extended cab! By the way, does anyone know how fast a 2004 Silverado like mine will do 0-60mph? I am finding that it's hard to be picky unless you special order. For instance, I want a white 2wd... that's not real hard to find. I just can't find a white, 2wd, black interior, 20's, DVD Nav GPS, power sliding rear glass. Get's harder to locate one if you are picky like me. I'll probably have to order something. I will keep looking for a little while longer since trucks already on the lot are discouted more... This is what I want my baby to look like.

I bought a 2007 sierra denali about 2 months ago, and it is a great truck. If you are looking to get one, you might want to drive one with the standard 18in wheels as well as the 20in. The 20in corners better but the 18in rides noticeably smoother(taller tire aspect ratio) and saves you a couple grand.

Replying to: markisliev (Jun 24, 2007 6:14 am) Thanks. I went with 2WD even though my last 2 vehicles (Denali SUV and Silverado SS) were AWD. No regrets, not much need for it here in Phoenix. The wheels I chose are MOMO 22" ZUV's. I took the picture right after I installed the Ground Force 2" shackle lowering kit. That took 5 hours because you have to cut the welded seam and bend it over on each side of the bed to clear the longer shackle. Major PITA. For some reason the 2nd photo didn't post so I'll try again. I bought it for around $3K under sticker. That included a $500 rebate and I took the 0% for 36 months instead of $1250 cash back.
