That's the biggest problem in this country today. American jobs are being lost because too many people are not willing to to support American products. I for one can hold my head high when I say I drive a Pontiac, but everyone I know hangs their head when you ask them where their foreign car was made. Good luck and have a great day! |

Anyone know a good method of getting stains out of the standard Torrent seat fabric? I havent spilled much, but anything as simple as water leaves a discolored ring on the seat. If water leaves a ring, I'd hate to think what a cleaning solution would do, so i'm a little hesitant. Any advice? |

We have a 2007 Torrent AWD that we bought new. We like the car very much but at 13,000+ miles it uses a quart of oil every 2,000 miles. GM has a service bulletin that says this level of use is normal in all of its engines yet both the dealer and internet searches say this isn't encountered often. Is anyone else having this oil use problem? Any advice? We're concerned that the engine is defective and will not last. We've never had this much oil use with other vehicles.

Hi , Last night I drove my wifes torrent and I notice a sound that sound like and faint turbo prop . Rolled down the rear window and the noise hurt my ears.To me it sounds like a wheel bearing going. Any thoughts ?? Thanks |

I have a 2006 AWD Pontiac Torrent and have had it in the repair shop repeatedly- many times for the same issue. I just broke the 36,000 mile mark and after getting no help from the dealership or GM I reluctantly purchased an extended warranty with the assumption that I will have further problems. Some issues I have had are: 1) Both front wheel bearings were replaced (20,000 miles) 2) Air hoses that keep detaching causing the check engine light to go on (had it in the shop more than 5 times for this issue- finally the service people found a GM bulletin on the problem) 3) A bolt came loose from the oil pan during an out of town trip over Christmas and got sucked up into the flywheel pretty much destroying thousands of dollars in parts 4) Starting issues- vehicle turns over but the engine doesn't kick in right away- after a couple tries it will typically start but it is hard to replicate for the service department Before my warranty expired I tried to address the issues and non-resolvance with the dealership where purchased (Walser in Bloomington, MN). The salesman was inattentive, the representative they gave me was unhelpful and just tried to sell me an extended warranty and they even tried to sell me a newer model. The service rep told me that GM gives you a 36,000 mile warranty so that all the kinks can get worked out- don't you think they would work out the kinks before they manufacture and sell a vehicle? After contacting Pontiac they were even worse than the dealership. I weighed the costs and decided it would cost less to buy an extended warranty and deal with the issues for three more years than to trade in a vehicle with a long service report and get the disappointingly low trade in price the dealers are offering.

As a satisfied owner of a 2006 Torrent with 46000 trouble free miles i have been thinking about the future of the GM lineup. Given the current state of the auto industry and the economy and GM, things are going to have to change. we all know chevy, gmc, buick and saturn have the lambda series midsize crossover suvs. chevy, saturn, pontiac have the small crossovers,,the equinox, torrent and vue. i have read about the 2010 equinox and 2010 gmc terrain, but nothing about the 2010 torrent and the vue recently recieved a redesign. since there is much speculation about the future of pontiac, will pontiac cede the torrent to buick? this would give gmc, chevy buick and saturn each a midsize and compact crossover. the compact crossover segment seems to be a popular market segment. what do you think will happen? |

Service warning light kept coming on and the dealer couldn't find anything wrong so their guess was that the gas cap was not tight. I just happened to be under the hood inspecting the filter and found a hose had came loose from the filter box, attached the hose and the service light went away. Had to us Ductape to keep the hose on. 4. Tires wore out at 18000 miles. Tires were rotated and balanced per the owners manual but because the tires wore even, GM said that it is not covered under the warranty. 5. The car now has 52000 miles and it is in the shop to have the front Rt wheel bearing replaced and the rotors replaced. |
