Picture Of Deep Blue Metallic? by j3studio

Does anyone have any real-world pictures of the 2008 Torrent in deep blue metallic? I don't really trust the way Pontiac's configurator applies colors and I haven't yet seen one at a dealer ...

I just rented an AWD Torrent in Buffalo, NY. The inset windshield is a very poor design for the Snow Belt. The windshield is inset 2-3 inches at the bottom. This creates a large amount of snow accumulation that does not shed like other windshields. I was happy with the handling in snow but the accumulation of snow on the driver’s side would be a deal breaker for me. I would expect that this would create an issue accumulating snow driving in heavy snow fall.

Insurance question by elleng

I have recently received my insurance renewal for my 2007 torrent AWD. I've been told that the vehicle safety rating has gone down and thus my premium has gone up. Has anyone else gotten an increased insurance bill recently?

hello all, former GM employee here. my dad is trying to buy a torrent for my mom, and i decided to come online and see if anyone on the boards could provide me with a GM "Friends & Family" coupon code for this purchase. I would greatly appreciate it and he would be buying "American" because I'm almost positive he's gonna go foreign otherwise and I would hate to see that. Well hope someone on the boards can help me out, reply or send me a private message/email (benito.camelagmail.com) if you can help, thanks.

I had a 2006 Torrent until I totaled it. I now have a 2007. To me the 07 rides better and definitely gets 2-4 mpg more than the 06. I also like the gauge layout better. Now for the questions, has anyone else had a problem in very cold weather -10 or more below with the all wheel drive not working. I have had the AWD, Traction Control, ABS and Stability warnings all come on at once. After it warms up they all work again. In both cars I have had problem with water getting into the spare tire well.

My '08 Pontiac Torrent says it has a 100,000 mile warranty. Is that worth the paper it's written on?

Hi p3001 - I applaude your Dad wanting American, but and you probably know this... the 3.4L engine is from China (yes China), just look at lower right of sticker for where tranny & engine from. I just looked at them again this AM to see that the 3.6L is from Japan which I prefer, again personal preference. My choice if buy is the 3.6 only avail in the GXP version but front wheel drive... I don't need the GXP AWD. I do like the size of the vehicle. Have a 05 Mazda Tribute now... GREAT vehicle! w/the 4 cyl avg'ing 26mpg and hate to give it up, but if do, the next logic is a slightly more roomy, more powerful (6 cyl) SUV type vehicle. Good luck with whatever you get :>) regards.

Dear Idoneyneel,
Your statement caught my attention:
"I would really like to support American car companies. I'm not willing to pay extra to do it."
That's the biggest problem in this country today. American jobs are being lost because too many people are not willing to to support American products. I for one can hold my head high when I say I drive a Pontiac, but everyone I know hangs their head when you ask them where their foreign car was made. Good luck and have a great day!

Stains on Torrent fabric. by tim1021

Anyone know a good method of getting stains out of the standard Torrent seat fabric?

I havent spilled much, but anything as simple as water leaves a discolored ring on the seat. If water leaves a ring, I'd hate to think what a cleaning solution would do, so i'm a little hesitant.

Any advice?

2007 Torrent High Oil Use by george1986

We have a 2007 Torrent AWD that we bought new. We like the car very much but at 13,000+ miles it uses a quart of oil every 2,000 miles. GM has a service bulletin that says this level of use is normal in all of its engines yet both the dealer and internet searches say this isn't encountered often. Is anyone else having this oil use problem? Any advice? We're concerned that the engine is defective and will not last. We've never had this much oil use with other vehicles.
