Of course, you can also order and adapter via PAC1 that will allow you to maintain your steering wheel controls as well. It really boils down to how much you want to spend. At this time, I am not ready to plunk down 1500 for an audio upgrade. I am saving my money to buy a driver's seat from Australian Grandeur (their version of the Azera) for the passenger side to give it full power adjustment and lumbar control as well as the inside door panel and memory controller. I am also saving up for a parking assist package (also offered in Australia for this model.) Replying to: parrotsquawk (Oct 05, 2009 7:16 am) Good luck finding a site that shows you any in-dash unit being used in real-world settings. Your best bet maybe to look on You Tube. Not sure why you would plunk down $1500 for an audio upgrade, my complete system upgrade (head unit, all door speakers, center channel speaker, 2 10" subs and amp to run them) came in well under $1000. There are clearly models out there for at least half (and less) that will address all the features you woudl really need. Sounds like you're getting ready to dump a whole lof of money into your car that won't help resale value in any way. You're better off saving up your money and getting the Equus when it comes out if power passenger seat is that important to you. A roof rack on the Azera/Grandeur...  In the end, it boils down to what a particular person wants and feels they need. The posting of the in-dash nav units wasn't exactly for you, as Msazzyindc had asked me about some units that would give her what she was looking for. It sounds to me like you really just need the upgraded Infinity sound system and you can carry around your 4 year old PNP Sirius Sportster and be quite happy.

I would love to try all these HU's but I have yet to find an aftermarket stereo store around here in West Palm Beach that have radios connected to a satellite source. 3. I have looked on YT and have not found videos that show satellite radio operation. 4. the 1500 was a just a number pulled out of my GMO (gluteus maximus oriface) 5. The power seat is not an issue just a thought because my wife asked me if it was available (she likes the lumbar support) 6. I scratched my head at the roof rack too. It is designed for snowboards, surfboards and bike racks but it looks like it could handle a few painter's ladders too or some plumber's pipes. 7. I have connected my 4 year old PNP and found a somewhat quiet FM frequency. I wonder if I can use the line out from the PNP to interrupt the XM Audio in signal coming to pins 4 and 20 of the 32 pin connector on the back of the radio since I don't intend on subscribing to XM (I have a lifetime Sirius subscription.) Then I would be happy enough. I just have to figure out how to replace the XM/GPS antenna with a Sirius/GPS module. Perhaps something from Ford, MB or Chrysler...

The one store that does connect their HU's to a satellite source is Walmart, however...they don't carry double din units. I put the You Tube thing out there simply because you can find almost anything out there, wasn't really sure if there was or not...sorry. You would easily spend $1500 if you took it to an audio shop and got it from them. I never understood why car companies never take the front passenger's comfort into consideration. I mean...if a couple goes on a long trip, shouldn't the passenger seat be just as comfortable as the driver's seat? Who knows what they were thinking when they make that decision. I'm still trying to imagine an Azera rolling down the road with a roof rack. Guess it seems odd because I just haven't seen one. I've seen other cars with them, but not an Azera. Sounds like something you could try and see what happens. As far as the antenna issue, you may need to run a separate one and mount it on your trunk lid or something. Considering the low profile some have now, it wouldn't even be seen that much if you went that route.

Replying to: allmet33 (Oct 06, 2009 5:49 am) As an aside... My dad's 04' Maybach does not have BT but has a V60 hardwired to the radio. When I contacted Maybach (Becker actually) they said they could replace it with the newer unit...for $4,000.00.... The satellite radio has no remote nor a way to input a channel directly. It has a lousy radio information display and control system too...but for 300k+ you do get massaging driver and passenger seats with 10 way power (including the headrests!), 5 memory positions and heating (but no cooling like his Navigator had...)
