I really like this SUV. GM/Buick have done a fine job. Looks classy and even Tiger looks and seems like a natural too it. I would difinitely aquire the new GM SUV platforms if it wasn't for one issue, tow ratings. If the tow rating were at least 1500lbs higher up to 6000lbs it would have been a done deal.

Now I have to wait for the new Yukon Hybrid or the Audi 3.0 liter TDI to suffice all of my requirements.

If you're planning on waiting anyways, why not wait for the Enclave Super? That may indeed suit your needs and it should come with a V8 with a good bit more ponies allowing a higher tow rating. I've decided that's what I'm going to wait for.

Is there truly a V8 coming? when? Or is this just one's dream. I agree, the towing factor is a must for me. 4000 lbs boat/trailor is my load. Only about 10-15 times a year however. So, 95% of my time would be without the boat.

Hertz gave me a month-old CX for my travels in Tennessee last week.

My overall impression: Floaty ride, good acceleration, low interior space/exterior size ratio, and uncomfortable seats. I'm 5'7", and when I finally found a tolerable seating/steering wheel position, I couldn't see the odometer. (Maybe the CXE is better.) The looks are certainly striking, but it is tough to know where the corners of this beast are located.

On the whole, the Enclave isn't bad at all, but buyers must REALLY hate minivans to pick this over a Toyota Sienna, which is a superior driving/usability experience in just about every way.

Local dealer had 2 CXL Enclaves, took one for a test drive today. I got to say this vehicle is a home run, good job Buick! The ride is amazing and it is as quiet as any top of the line car out there. I will buy one in the future, I plan to wait for dealer stock to increase and incentives from buick. Right now this vehicle is too hot, dealers can not keep them on their lots, they are not dealing at all on Enclaves. Best price i got was $1000 off MSRP

You mention the Nailhead and Turbo-6, don't forget the Big Block Buicks, w/ the 400-430-455 engines in them (the '70 GS had it, and is considered the fastest muscle car of it's era, not including "sports cars" like a Vette).

#18 of 19 I love the Enclave! by dvsutton

I test drove an Enclave about a month a go for a day. I love it! The styling sets it apart from the frumpy Asian brands. You defenitly know your vehicle in the parking lot. I took it to a upsclae restaurant the valet parked it right out front. The next vehicle in line was a Lexus RX. They didn't even look twice as the valet took the Lexus around back. I just smiled as I took the ticket. The owner of the Lexus just smirked. Like I said, I love it!

"the 'wood' on the steering wheel rim looks more authentic, but is too hard and slick"

Do expect real wood to be soft? Seriously? That's a pretty idiotic statement right there. Everything else is good though.
