Hi all...been researching the Sprinter and am having some trouble finding stats/specs on the Sprinter prior to 2004. I'm in the market for one, and am trying to figure out how to search for such vans BEFORE they were called "dodge sprinters"... Can anybody fill me in on what years it has been in the states, and if it wasn't a Dodge in 2001-2003 (or earlier), what was it? Replying to: gratidude (May 10, 2007 12:34 am) They were not imported from the EU until the 2003. Both Dodge and Freightliner sell the Sprinter. I think most of the Freightliners were sold to RV conversion companies such as Forest River. If I was buying a used one I would get the newest possible, so you have the 7 year 75k mile warranty on the drive train. I wish I had that engine and transmission in a 1/2ton PU truck. It would easy get 30 MPG. PS Welcome to the Forum
