Like other point out Map Data is kind of Old. It can't find the somewhat-new Costco address ( For gas and resting.) - I don't know how many of Costco are new in these three years.

The Costco here in Boise moved about 4 or 5 years ago. It's now out by the Cracker Barrel and the old Costco is a Cabela's. So if your map data took you across the tracks towards the mall, it's a bit dated.

A proper 6 gear Manual (stick shift). I am surprised that nobody seems to want it. This is the only reason that I am holding back from buying the Outlander. Why are Manuals so hard to find in the US ???

1.The paddle shifters are just queer.
2.totally new interface on the NAV system to upgrade it more easily.
3. New OS on the NAV system, the music server is weak and clumsy.
4. Fix the mirrors to be quiet without having to stuff them w foam.
5. Quieter AC at idle.
6. Fix the acceleration lag.
7. 3rd row seat is a steaming pile.
8. Better AC for the rear seat.
9. Rear wiper spray nozzle is a joke. Single stream of water?
10. Body dings super easily, needs strips of some kind.
11. Change holder
12. Softer suspension

Presenting my wish list in no particular order:

*auto on/off headlights
*sunglass holder (econoboxes have them . . . come on Mitsu)
*auto up/down window switches
*chrome or silver painted door handles
*higher quality interior materials (Mitsu has a padding on the doors and dashboard phobia)
*scuff-proof door panels
*HomeLink/auto-dimming rearview mirror
*overall better quality control (lots of little defects just like my mom's old 1984 Olds Cutlass Supreme)
*fix the odd drivetrain noises
*a real horn . . . lose the moped horn
*FIX THE FM RADIO RECEPTION PROBLEM (got muffled sound?)
*3rd row seating should be optional
*a cover for the exposed bolt holding down the driver's seat (cost cutting gone wild)
*lumbar support
*a/c controls that don't feel so toyish
*Fire the cost cutters (along with the Nissan ones)

I'll cover the MMCS another time.

Overall, Mitsubishi has created a fun vehicle to own. It's a good product. If the Outlander is to be a GREAT product, Mitsubishi needs to focus on the little things that make a product stand out. Just my two cents.

I'd definitely agree on the auto headlights. Start the car at night, Your lights and dash lights are on, But you have to remember to turn on the tail lights.

Some of the interior bits are cheap (sun visor, door panels, etc.) but that doesn't bother me much. The climate controls do feel cheap.

Still love the drivetrain, handling etc.

Hi,

I am also interested in parking sensors and auto-dimming mirror. Were you able to get them installed? Are they available in US? If not, any idea where to get them - even the non-mitsubishi parts.

I think a compass should be standard on any vehicle. I love everything about my LS 2007 model. It has some great features and I'm okay with any of the skimping that they've done, but I feel like the fabric it going to get so dirty. I'm in Arizona and didn't want leather, but a little design in the fabric would help to keep it from showing dirt. Also, on the LS it is weird to me that the top of the center console has fabric - seems like it is going to get so dirty. Other than that I am very pleased. I was looking for an SUV that gets decent gas milegage, isn't huge, and will last me 10 years.

I have an 07 XLS with Sun & Sound, Luxury and Navi Packages and I love the car overall. I do have a few things that annoy me and I'd like to see changed.

1. The option to have doors auto unlock when you are in range and auto lock when you are out of range, as sometimes I forget to lock the car.
2. I am 6'4" and the center arm rest is a good 6 inches away from my arm, to set my arm there feels so low and it is akward, I have no where comfortable to put my right arm.
3. With that being said, the entire center console is too low, like the cup holders, they are really far for me, I end up using the one on the left of the steering wheel because it is easier to use.
4. Daytime running light (with HID's) should turn on when car is placed in Drive, I dis-like having them on when I am sitting parked, because at night people always think I am leaving.
5. Option of backup camera, I would love to have this as a factory option, I am currently trying to find a cheap solution to add a camera to mine.
6. Average gas mileage system is annoying, it always gives me a low MPG because it resets itself a lot, and I even turned it to manual, and then it turned the auto reset back on by itself, kinda annoying.
7. As other people said, a smaller key fob (FAST KEY) would be nice, this one is pretty big and akward.
8. Climate Controls on steering wheel would be nice.
9. 3rd Row seat as an option on all trims, meaning not mandatory on XLS and optional on others.
10. I see it mentioned in the manual, but I don't know how to get it, a 110 volt plug inside the center console would be awesome, and maybe even another in the rear instead of the cigarette lighter one.
11. Better bluetooth system. Now maybe it is just my phone, but half the time my system does not find my phone, and then when it does, sometimes it freezes up when I try to call from the phonebook.
12. Any easy way (and free) to upgrade the navi system.
13. The ability for the music server to accept MP3 discs, I hate having to burn all of my music in regular CD format in order to get my music onto the server, it took me 7 discs to do what 1 MP3 disc could have.
14. More hooks to hang hangers from, more than the one on the drivers side.

Like I said, I love my Outlander overall, but doing a few of these things would make this car perfect!
