Local dealer says that heated mirrors have temperature censor. They are activated below certain temperature level.

I guess that's a possibility but I don't really see the point. Heating the mirrors evaporates water quicker, regardless of the ambient temperature.

Mitsubishi already tailors specs like stainless steel exhaust according to the region. Seems more likely that heated mirrors would only be for Northern areas, although I would still like to have them here in Cali.

I just was told by my dealer, that he can install these newly available Outlander options: side molding, parking sensors, rear view camera, wood trim, multi-color Xenon lighting, luggage hardware, bike attachments, etc… Most of the stuff from this catalog: Mitsubishi Outlander catalog.

chelentano, please ask your dealer if those are OEM parts from the catalog. And if you can secure a list with parts number (if they are different for the US market). That would really help. TIA.

Well, it says on the 1st page: "Mitsu Motors Genuine Parts", but I'll ask next time. I've already requested pricing on parking senosrs and rear camera.

Japanese Mitsu site shows that parking sensors and rear camera are "Manufacturer options" (sometimes translated link does not load so you have to click twice:
Mitsu Outlander Japan

Interesting, that side & curtain air bags are optional in Japan, but standard in US.

They (Mitsu) have to top the safety aspect of the vehicle if they want to maintain their market. Americans have different demands than asians. Ever wonder why a 3.0L petrol is not offered in Japan but standard in the US?
