My wish list by sr1945

My wish list for the 09. Won't hold the breath however....

1. Navi, deeper in dash to avoid sun wash out. None touch screen. Really like my none touch screen navi on my 08 accord and would like the same on the Prius

2. Softer or at least softer looking dash. Now its too hard looking

3. Different speed/tach gauges. Rounded or Simi rounded or even digital ones right infront of the driver like normal cars. Like the more normal look instead of what is current.

4. For the price paid, would welcome a better interior as well.

5. Front window factory tint about 1/8th the way down from the top instead of going the extra tinting rout to avoid that early morning sun rise.

Improve seats, offer sun roof by janakiram

Both the front and rear seats in the Prius will benefit from stiffer seats and driver lumber support. and a factory installed sun roof, even a small one, can hold down A/C use and help boost mileage.

More changes I'd like to see in the Prius by maribago

1. Rear disc brakes
2. Rear independent suspension
3. Less cheesy/plastic-y front dask
4. Nav system that displays previous routes and color-codes segments by mpg (you've got the GPS in there already and I'd like to see where my teenager drove last night)
5. Built-in iPod and cell phone holsters.
6. Smaller structural posts to left/right of windshield (current ones block driver's view significantly).
7. More seat adjustments for driver and passenger.
8. Better hvac. Current one is wimpy (and, yes, will sacrifice a little fuel economy to actually warm the car up when it is cold).

No particular priority order. And, yes, I've driven a Prius (2005 for 2 years +)

Prius seats by bob204

I have an '06 Prius and just took an extended 1800 mi. journey.. On the 2nd day of travel and then 600 mi. into our journey my wife began complaining about the seats. As the day wore on she eventually came to a bout of tears saying the seats are so uncomfortable. They are and very hard after the miles we traveled. Any suggestions out there?

This was my largest grip about the Prius the second being a non height adjustable seat as well as a non telescoping steering wheel.
In the old days you could just buy a set of Recaro's and have them installed but with all the new airbag technology I don't think that's possible unless Recaro makes a factory replacement seat for the Prius (doubtful).
They have padded seat covers but I don't know how well those would work. Possibly having the seats customized would work. Many dealers often have a leather interior added aftermarket. Maybe they can stuff more padding into the seats? i hope you find something that works.

I suppose the seats are a matter of opinion. I've ridden in Hondas that seemed harsh and stiff to sit in and on. We have an '04 Prius with 87K and just came off a trip out West to the tune of over 5,300 miles and had little to complain about as to the seats. I'm nearly 6 ft 220lbs and my wife is....well lets just say, she pleasingly plump in many a nice way.
The things I'd like to see are .....Tinted Sunroof....More tint on all windows especially the Rr Window......How about a steering wheel control for "fan".....Briter controls on nite steering wheel......Find a way to make Rr rug to stay put......Make the Rr window wiper flip open better to clean same window....Lastly, Find a way to make the division of Rr Window better engineered so you can see better out it.
