I am looking to lease a 2006 Mountaineer Luxury AWD w/ Moonroof, Adj Pedals, Heated Seats, and Satellite receiver as options. The MSRP is $35,660. What number should I be working with BEFORE the $4500 in rebates. I want to make sure I am not getting "worked over" on this one. Or should I look into an Explorer? Thanks.

Replying to: mcdermott2 (Jul 24, 2006 12:40 pm) Until the end of the month there is a $3500 rebate on the Luxury model as well as an additional $1000. They are also waiving the bank fee. I got back from a different dealer with the following: $4080 Down (Includes the Down payment, Tax and fees) $359 per mo. for 36 mos. Sound good? You can do better on a 24 mo lease right now but that is too short for me.

And I really like it. Not sure if I want a newer one as they look a bit boxy. The only problems I have had with mine is 2 recent trips to Ford for replacement of the rear clutches. 2nd time seems to have worked... so far. One other problem, I think plagues most Ford owners, is the radio display now fades in and out and sometimes goes away completely. Other than that, it is a 5.0l all-wheel drive, has a special trim package...Monterey, rides nice, gets around 15MPG average, and I just really like it. Mike |
