The first one was just odd and ridiculous. Now, like all other Toyota products, they have thrown ugly into the mix. Typical little jab there at the end stating you would choose it over the American products.

I wouldn't call it outright "ugly"...perhaps "innovative." Kudos to Toyota for adding more power (plus an optional supercharger--I can go for that) and much more upscale features like a navigation system and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. If I got one, though, the first thing I would do is play frisbee with the nasty wheel covers and opt for some 18's.

19" wheels are available as a DIO like the supercharger. You can already build one on Scion's website.

Of course your choose this over the competition. It's from Toyota and has great quality right? Uh oh, better check the last few years of JD Powers quality ratings for Scion. They are near the bottom of the field.

What exactly is your point? I think they were judging it on feature content and fit and finish. It's just a first drive, not a long term road test.

Hello? Isn't he missing one of the obvious changes? I have been waiting for months to buy this car ever since I saw that it was going to have side curtain airbags. However, the complete lack of care in maintaining at least 25mpg city driving has left me bitterly disappointed.

Mediocrity masquerading as innovation. Gimmicky and ghastly, it's perfect for Toyota lovers. No doubt they'll revel in the "quality" - talk about easily pleased! A joke car for the simple-minded.

Edmunds has it on the 2008 xB's car info page. The new xB gets 22/28 mpg on the new mileage system. On the new mileage system, the old one gets 28/31 mpg.
I wonder why there are so many trolls in this thread who post nothing about the car itself, just spewing anti-foreign and anti-Toyota rhetoric.
