I have the exact same noise in my 2008 RAV4 as described in TSB ST001-08. The TSD applies only to 2006-07 RAV4s. Has anyone else experienced this problem in a 2008 RAV4?

RAV4 and hitch bike rack by azorglub

Does anybody know whether the wheel tray hitch mounted bike rack fit on the RAV4 with the swinging door.
Bike rack like this one: http://www.yakima.com/racks/bike-racks/product/8002433/holdup-(2-receivers-only).aspx

I test drove a RAV4 and really liked it, but the bike rack is a deal killer if it does not fit.

1999 RAV4 Weak Blower Motor by bobgofast

At 106,000 miles, my blower motor was weak. I thought about replacing it so I looked beneath the passenger side dash to check access to the mounting screws. One was beneath the glove box lid, so I opened the lid and slightly bent the plastic surrounding the box assembly so the stoppers would clear the dash piece. Then the box opened further forward than normal. At that point I could see that there was an air intake up in the underside of the dash behind the glovebox lid. And there were paper napkins from a fastfood restaurant sucked up against the intake! I removed the napkins (and a nice pair of sunglasses I lost) and popped the lid back into position. You guessed it - the blower works GREAT! The intake was blocked and that was the only problem! No more napkins or loose papers allowed in my glovebox now!

That air intake is likely the intake used when in Recirculation Mode, otherwise that intake is closed.

Many of us use recirculate mode pretty much exclusively during the summer months.

As it should be, to reduce gas usage and reduce AC load.

Right you are wwest. It is the recirc air intake. I live in Arizona and it can be 105 to 115 degrees F here for three months from mid-June to mid-Sept. It doesn't do any good to try to cool the "fresh" air from outside. Cooling the recirculated air is the ONLY way to go. Don't feel too sorry for me though. The average temp in January is 68 degrees.
