When I was at the autoshow they showed 08's at around 700.00 more as far as MSRP then 07's. This is just the MSRP price though.

2008 Santa Fe - Is there a dust problem by cgr51

We were just about to purchase a 2008 Santa Fe Limited and noticed that is the sun roof or window is open a little bit, there is an actual cold air breeze coming thru the door handles on both the Drivers and Passenger sides. When windows are closed it stops. We live on a gravel road and wnat to know if anyone knows if the air coming thru the door handles is filtered air or if it brings in dust? Don't want to make a mistake twice. Also does Hyundai stand behind their vehicles and help or leave you hanging like Honda?
We are trading off a Honda 2007 Odyssey because it is the dusties, dirtiest vehicle we have ever owned (even though it has never been driven with any windows open) and Honda will not do anything about it.)

Keep in mind that standard equipment has been added in 2008. For example, 2008 Limiteds come with the Infinity audio system and power moonroof as standard; both were optional in 2007.

While I don't doubt that you're feeling a draft in the areas of the door handles, I highly doubt that the drafts are actually entering the vehicle at those points. It's far more likely that they're entering through the open window or roof and ricocheting in a way that creates the illusion of entering through the handles.

No actually - the way we found it in the test drive was the salesmanl had left the sunroof opened on the back end about 1/2 inch, forgotten and closed the inside panel. We were driving and had turned off all of the heater fans so we could see if there were any noises, rattles etc and as soon as we turned off the fans, there was instantly really cole air (it was -15 outside) blowing on our arm beside the door handle. In feeling around, there was a definate air blowing thru the door handle. enough to move a kleenex. When we got back and questioned it, the salesman knew right away that he had left the sunroof cracked. He said his Hyundai car is the same. Closed it up and the cold draft stopped. We just wanted to know if someone who has a 2007/08 has taken it regularily on gravel roads and if there is any problem with a dust leak at the handles.

I have to agree with muzpach. With the sunroof partially open, you feel the air at the door handle, but that is because of the different internal air pressure and currents resulting from the car moving and the sunroof being open. If it goes away with the sunroof closed, that is the reason.

Think about it. How could air be coming in the door handle? Of course if a door gasket was misaligned, you might have the same symptom, but you would hear it and still feel it with the sunroof closed.

I'm looking for a new base model SF GLS 2008 2.7 V6.

I know dealers have wildly differing prices. On my last vehicle I paid $5,000 less on a base minivan and want to be wise to do the same on a SF.

Where are you finding the "$1000 Under Invoice" prices? and how do you know the true invoice price which I find differs from dealer to dealer?

Please give your advise and info.

Thanks very much.

In a recent post a 3 or 4 letter name was given to test electronically a vehicle at Autozone before going to the dealer for problems.

Please tell me what that code name was.

Thanks.

i purchased a 2008 limited jan.21 at 500 under invoice.compared it to honda crv, toyota rav4,nissan rogue and saturn vue.it is a nicer looking vechile than those.it is awd and has everything but nav. dvd and third row seat.the interior is alot nicer with the woodgrain and dash.the vue didn't offer a sunroof.the crv only came with a 4 cyl.the rogue was just too small and felt cheap.the rav4 felt smaller and the interior didn't look as nice and didn't care for the tire on the back.this site really helped me with my decision so i hope i can help someone else.
