IMO the only reason to go with a GLS with the 2.7 is to get a manual transmission (which is not available on any other versions of the Santa Fe).
My wife and I both love manual trannies and are so thankful that Hyundai still offers a stick. It's a rarity in the US market.
We are in the shopping phase and don't own a Santa Fe. I only wish that it was a wee bit smaller for better parking in our garage, but so far it's a front runner on my wife's list.

Exact same unit but santa fe will get a different bezel around it.

So it sounds like the info from this forum that the 08 Santa Fe will have navigation. When I was in my local Hyundai dealership last week, I told the salesperson who ended up selling me my car I heard the 08's were getting it. He said, no, they weren't. Sounds like it's probably a case of the salesperson really not knowing but pretending he does...again.

Yep that happens a lot. The 08's should be arriving soon. Navi will be offered.

I`ll have to admit changing the oil on the 2.7 sucks, the filter is underneath and your arm gets covered with oil when you take out the old filter
Where is the filter? I was looking at a 2.7 today and couldn't find it; not sure if it's hidden by the under engine panel. Is it in front of the block or to the rear of the block? Thanks.

The sales people at the autoshow this past week did not even know that the 08's weren't in stock yet. They also thought the santa fe had aux mp3 jack. Which we all know they don't. Don't know why they put people in those shows that don't their product.
That being said we still like the santa fe. But wish they knew their own product.

I don't know specifically about Orlando, but the people who work most of the auto shows (including the one that I go to in San Francisco) aren't actually employed by the manufacturers they represent and they definitely aren't sales people. The people who work the shows work for outside marketing firms that are contracted by the manufacturers to work the shows. You're correct that they usually know quite little about they vehicles they're trying to represent. They're given small amounts of information that will help them fool most of the showgoers; it's not at all unusual, though, that a showgoer would know more than them about the car they're representing.
