Use the features of this site. According to them you should be targeting a price of 41 before rebates. Also use the request quote from dealer option. and start working them against each other. I'm not sure about the strategy of getting the trade value after your price is established. Is that what the dealer says if so I'd question that. You should have a good price already in mind of what that should be by using the used car features here. I'd look to have the trade factored into your overall deal as you negotiate. That's one more variable they can tinker with to get your payments down by increasing the trade value without impacting the price of the car. I bought a similar car with Nav if you look just above your post last week. But overall, I'd say use all the features of this site.

The idea of a lease is not to put anything down.... you do not own the vehicle. You would be better off selling your other car and keeping the cash in the bank in case you decide to buy a car in a few years. Realize that if you lease R you getting any write offs off on your taxes. After 2-3 years you give the car back, you have nothing. Be aware leasing is not for every one! If in 2-3 years you have nothing to put down so you start from scratch. If you can afford it, borrow the money from your self and you be the leasing company, you would be better off. This way it is 0% and no rent charge.

#457 of 474 2011 Acadia Denali Pricing & Questions
by texanagain

Signed contract yesterday for a new 2011 Denali, White Diamond Tricoat/Cashmere with NAV and second row console. I added $150 for dark tinting front windows (legal in TX). MSRP is $46,980 and Inv is $45,401. Negotiated a final price of $42,900 (before adding $150 for window tinting). Edmunds TMV is $45,325, so I think I got a good deal. Any comments? I am putting down $3,000.
1. Dealer financing form calculates the 6.25% sales tax on the selling price BEFORE down payment deducted. Shouldnt they deduct the $3K down pmt BEFORE calculating tax?
2. Dealer added "Dealer Inventory Tax" of $80.51. Is that Kosher?
3. Dealer also added $125 for document fee. I understand that this number is negotiable. Any comments on what be a fair number. I had heard that anything over $100 is high.

1) In Texas you pay tax on the price of the car... doesn't matter how much is down..
2) The inventory tax is a dealer tax, but virtually every dealer in Texas passes it on to the consumer
3) Document fees used to be restricted by law in Texas, but no longer... so, they might be all over the map..
2) and 3).. Total $200... You'd have an easier time trying to negotiate your deal down by another $200 than focusing on these two fees... All that matters is the total cost, in the end.

I have received the following offers from a dealer. Please advise whether you think they are good or whether I can do better. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, as I may make a deal today or tomorrow. Thanks.
2011 GMC Acadia SLE AWD - $34,642 invoice cost
$1232 sunroof
$2,028 entertainment system with rear DVD
$348 red jewel paint
$775 destination charge
$404 "dealer IMR contributions" (dealer says this is advertising fees, one from his dealership and one from the dealership where the car is located)
$39,517 total invoice cost + fees - OFFER FROM DEALER IS $39,717
2011 GMC Acadia SLT-1 AWD - $38,175 invoice cost
$1232 sunroof
$1,272 rear DVD
$775 destination charge
$215 "dealer IMR contribution" (supposedly the advertising fee)
$430 "LMA Group Contribution" (not sure what this is)
$42,187 total invoice cost + fees - OFFER FROM DEALER IS $42,387

I don't know where you live but you need to consider Fitzmall in MD. As for your second car request, their website has a 2011 GMC Acadia; Internet Price: $38,650.00 MSRP: $44,330.00
Style: AWD 4dr SLT1
Obviously their deal is way better than whatever you're getting where you are. Understood that this course of action isn't for everyone but I would do it if i could save over $4K on a must have car.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I was already at Fitz and that price is not really cheaper than what I have from the other deal. The Fitz dealer explained to me that the sales price for that vehicle includes a $1,000 GM loyalty discount (which is available at any dealer, but which I am not eligible for) and a $2,000 cash back rebate (which is also available at any dealer, including the one I am working with, but which I will probably decline in favor of 0% financing. The Fitz price also doesn't include the fees I identified in my post, and there would be similar fees at Fitz.
So the Fitz price is not really lower than what I currently have offered from the other dealer, and is probably a little higher. From everything I can tell, the current offer I have is just $200 over invoice for this vehicle - the only issue is the reasonableness of the LMR and advertising fees being charged, though my research indicates that it is very difficult to negotiate much on these.
Thanks again.
#462 of 474 Good deal? 2011 Acadia SL w leather/heated seats
by macca2008

Here's what I got from the dealer:
2011 GMC Acadia SL (they would put in leather seats with heated fronts)
MSRP $33,340
actual $32,289.65 GM supplier discount (not much - didn't sound right)
w/ leather $34,177.15
downpmt $3K
TTL $3,187.40 (est.)
0% 60-month finance (not leasing, i want to buy)
Total monthly = $569.57
This is their first offer which I never take. I left and I discussed wiggle room, etc. I think they would come back with $560/month, included leather seats, but then put in gap insurance (which for this car seems to have value in buying) which potentially puts me back at $570/month
Deal or no deal? That GM supplier discount sounds low to me but I checked it out and sure enough it was accurate.
#463 of 474 What I paid

2011 Acadia S with 9611 miles on it for 25,995 + TTL at Brown Buick GMC Subaru in Amarillo TX.
If you live in the area I highly recommend this dealership. They were so easy to deal with that I bought the car on my lunch break.
