about the rebate, you need pay the 7% tax on rebate amount in NJ. if you are getting $3000 rebate then you will have to pay $210 plus the total on road price of the car.

I am looking at a 2007 SLT-2 FWD Acadia. The vehicle has every option. The mileage is high at 55K but all service has been done as prescribed by the local dealer. It is a single owner that used it for highway travel. The price is right at 22K. Should I have any concerns about realiability etc? Thanks

If you don't plan on keeping it a long time, then I'd stay away from it. REAL trade-in values on the Acadia stink. $22K is probably less than book trade, but try getting that from a dealer. You might think about test driving it over to Car Max and asking what they'd give you for it. They tend to be pretty reasonable. If the number is more than 22K, then you might have a good deal.

If you do plan on keeping it for a while, then the trade-in value is less of an issue but I'dthink about an extended warrant.

Whatever you do, get a CARFAX report and have a mechanic check it out. Good luck!

I'd think LONG and HARD about this. I looked at a lot of 2007 Acadia's recently and the value wasn't there. I just bought a brand new 2009 Acadia SLT-1 with backup camera, power liftgate, remote start, everything except for nav and DVD for $35,000 (added hitch and DVD after delivery for $400).

True - We're talking about $13k more. But for that $13k you get a newer car, 55k miles back and a warranty that you'll probably need. Even at 15k mi / yr, that's 3 1/2 years of ownership you're giving away. Also, one 55k SLT-2 Acadia that I looked at in MA was already in their shop with a power steering pump replacement. During negotiation, they told me they'd invested $2,200 in repairs in this vehicle (as if this would make me want to pay more).

2009 new Acadia's come with $2,500 in rebates + $500 discretionary dealer rebate and another $500 for your waiver of the "try it for 60 days" program.

BTW - If you do look for a new 2009, don't just look locally. I found a new one in another state and paid $300 to have it shipped to my driveway.

Is this price unrealistic? by lentil

We are looking at a 2010 AWD SLT-1. The msrp is 46,290. We were hoping to pay 41,000 + ttl. Is this price completely unrealistic?
Thanks!

Yes, unrealistic. Looks like you're hoping to pay over 2k less than supplier pricing after the $1000 cash allowance.
