One caveat though; How sure are you that the "bankrupt airline" will do it's pre and post flight inspections as diligently as they would in better times? You don't think there could be pressure by lower to middle management to say "close enough" or "just fill out the forms" so they look good and save money, possibly "saving" their jobs (provided the flight is successful). |

Replying to: marsha7 (Jul 15, 2009 6:25 am) WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will say in Michigan, a state hard-hit by the downturn in the car industry, that some auto industry jobs that have been lost will not be returning. "(The) hard truth is that some of the jobs that have been lost in the auto industry and elsewhere won't be coming back," Obama will say, according to prepared remarks released by the White House. "They are casualties of a changing economy. And that only underscores the importance of generating new businesses and industries to replace the ones we've lost, and of preparing our workers to fill the jobs they create," Obama says in the remarks. I have to wonder what those jobs may be? I am thinking learning to dig caves for US all to live in when he gets his Cap N Trade going real good. We are headed for the dark ages with all his programs. The UAW just had further to fall than most. |
