They will have no chance to break even financially before 2012. I believe GM as we know it will not exist 2 years from today. Chevy and Cadillac will survive in one form or another. Possibly owned by Ford or Toyota. |

Georgia was a state for 50 years before Michigan was admitted. Just reading the new 1776 by McCullough, it mentions time and again how George Washington considered the Yankees and New England volunteers as uneducated, uncivilized and undisciplined. Most of the southern states were admitted long before Michigan. Georgia was the 4th state admitted less than one month after the first 3 states. Rocky I would never admit I was out witted by a TX attorney. As our old Teamster boss told me, Attorneys have to be led every step of the way. Sorry Bob that has been my experience as well. I have a couple attorney friends I debate politics and theology with. I would not be afraid to debate either with the pick of the UAW crop. Send them over to this thread and we will have a go. http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f1d3f68/75#MSG75 |

Seems like they will play a much larger role in determining the attributes/design/quality/reliability of upcoming GM offerings and should have had an ownership stake equivalent to or more than UAW. Guess it is just Obama and his politician friends paying back the unions. |

"I know you think us union people with UAW-DNA are nothing but druggies, drunks, low-lifes, etc, but those same people you stereotype as low-lifes gave me the moral values I have today."...well, partially right...I think THEY are druggies, drunks and low-lifes, not you... Don't forget it was your hero Bill Clinton who sold rocket and nuclear technology to the Chinese, placing us in danger...they never would have sent up a satellite, or not for another 10-20 years, if not for your buddy Clinton selling out the US for under-the-table re-election money in 1996...so if we sit in danger of a missle-delivered nuke bomb, blame Clinton, your hero... I really wonder who will buy a new GM car (I mean, besides lemko buying 5) and if they will keep the new GM afloat...I think that they may just pare it down to Chevy and Cadillac, and a truck brand, and they could do alright...adopt Honda's efficient manufacturing methods, and cut the UAW work force by another 2/3, since Honda only needs 1/3 the workers that GM needs for the same number of cars... If we play our cards right, we might reduce the entire UAW membership to the size of what is now the smallest local...then they will be a footnote in history, like Pres Millard Fillmore... rocky, I did not imply bars and clubs, I wouldn't do that either...but you must know people who know single women that you can meet for coffee (a $5 date) to see if an evening date is worth it...yeah, I know some of them might be like me and detest the UAW, but you might find some UAW-commies (... Besides, there have GOT to be women who want an ethical, honest, decent man, and you seem to be one, we just have to re-train your misguided thinking... |
