I hadn't looked at that. It fits the price and fuel economy requirements, but I'm afraid the third row doesn't really look any better than the third rows of most small SUVs. I can't imagine fitting an adult back there, and it looks like it would be a pain to put a car seat back there.

I think the Mazda 5 is a great six-seater. We fit 6 of us all the time, husband driving, Dad-in law up front passenger, 3 1/2 year old in way back with Mom and 17 month old in infant seat in 2nd row bucket with Grandma next to her in the other bucket. WE LOVE the MAZDA 5, I would buy another in a heart beat. Great gas mileage. All seat will lay flat and allow 6 feet of cargo. This car is awesome for a family of 4 or 5 with the occasional additional rider. Go for it.
