Ford F-450 Lemon

This truck looks good, but does not perform. Within the first two months of ownership this truck overheated 3 times with no help from ford. Does anyone out there know an attorney who would like to take Ford Motor Company on? There customer service is the worse, they are always sarcastically apologizing about there lack of service. This truck is a sour lemon. Not only did it overheat the EGR coolers had to be replaced, two radiators, water pump, the turbos, short block, hoses and all Ford tried to do was to find fault with us as the owner of the truck. They requested all of our service records, which we did provide, because they wanted our warranty to be voided. I even emailed Alan Mullaly, the CEO with no response . Do Not Purchase a FORD F-450. I also have a friend who owned 2 and voluntarily repoed both, she took the loss. Most happened before 20K miles.
This vehicle was purchased to haul vehicles. Can't operate my business for this truck being in the the shop. Just got it out of shop for over 30 days now the check engine light is on again. What can be done?

hey big daddy have your lawyer research the real problem. a little tip the early ones like mine and possibly yours also had faulty radiator cores .they were plastic around the outside and melting down. i lost both my egr coolers each time before my engines went. i sure wish i had a lawyer out here who would take mine. they want to much money. i have all mine tied up in a 50,000.00 piece of sh-t truck that is about to go back to the bank. good luck theses bas-ards know they are having problems and is doing this to everyone.

Ford is now walking away from our problem with the bucking with our horse trailer, which is dangerous not only to the driver let alone the horses in the back - We need an attorney too, by the way to all on the blog we are selling the Ford and buying a Dodge - This sucks big time financially, I will never buy a Ford again, hope all our friends do the same thing.

I agree my friends bought Dodge trucks and have had no problems and have gone well over our mileage. What a terrible shame that a company as large as Ford would not honor there word. FORD tough, yeah right.

We have a F-450 super duty that blew one motor at 26000 miles, Ford replaced it then it went another 30000 miles and blew the second motor! The oil was so full of anti freeze they said but now Ford will not replace the second motor. They want $20,000.00 for a new motor this time. Its been sitting for 4+ months because who can afford to make payments on a new $50000.00 truck then spend more to fix a motor that should be under warranty. my questions is you say you have a good lawyer but we had a lawyer (obviously wasn't good) but he has spent 4 months back and forth with Ford now he says he can't get anywhere with them. Does anyone know a good lawyer that can get something done for us in Missouri?? Or any suggestions??
Ford obviously has too much money when they can say well we just don't want to fix it even though it is under warranty! Got to love their customer service!!

You must have seen our blogs re our 08 F450 with the bucking (horse trailer) Ford refused to admit any problem said it was Sundowners! - We could not find a Dodge dealer or anybody else to give us a near fair price for the truck! Also there is no lawyer that will take on Ford unless you have millions to through away - Ford can play this game until bankruptcy us or them. We are at a loss. Sorry to hear of your problems we wish we had an answer, sadly Ford doesn't care one way or another - Now if I could win the lottery..........

Bought the '08 F450 in May 2007. Also use to haul horses. 42' 3 stalls.
First trip was Edmonton, AB to Ft Worth, Tx. On and off it made sounds like a tornado under the hood. In Oklahoma is stranded us on roadside. Rented a truck to go on to Texas with trailer/horses. Took two weeks to fix. They delivered it to Tulsa on our way back, supposedly fixed. It broke down on the guy delivering it. Another week. Lost power about 200miles from home.
Right now it is in dealership in North Carolina. On our way there it stranded us again on the roadside in Nebraska. Towed in and after three days said it was fixed. It broke again near Raleigh NC. Has been in and out of the garage in NC three times now. Towed in each time. Replaced same injector 3 times and module once. Won't know now until Monday (today is Friday) what is wrong. Diesel mech on vacation this week. Add to that the 6mpg when towing and this truck is For Sale as soon as (or if) we get it home. Oh and yeah the IBC doesnt work with our electric over hydraulics. Told we should read the manual. I guess that is the manual we didn't have before buying the truck.
