Trying to decide between 4Runner v. H3

I'm currently considering an 07 4Runner SR5 4x4 V6 w/ leather seats for $27.5K. I'm planning to install an aftermarket Eclipse AVN7000 navigation system with Bluetooth, Sirius and rear camera for an additional $3000. Monthly payment will be $350/month.
The other option is an 07 Hummer H3 black/black with Luxury package and navigation system for $32K. Monthly payment ends up being $440.
I'm pretty torn about the decision. The 4Runner has the V6 while the H3 has a V5. The 4Runner is a better price, but I like the style of the H3 better. What do you guys think?

Drive both of them first, if you haven't already. I think you'll find that the H3 is underpowered with the 5-cylinder engine. And it is an inline 5, not a V5, by the way. Neither will get good fuel economy, but the 4Runner will be better than the H3.

I did find the H3 slightly underpowered with the inline 5. The 4Runner was undoubtedly smoother and a better ride. But I still like the styling of the H3 much more than the boring 4Runner.

The 4R will likely be more reliable with better interior and smoother ride. If super offroad ability and a more unique truck is your thing, get the H3.

Do you want to be cool or smart? The 4 Runner has a more solid ride, better resale, more power and a better reliability record. The H3 is a new design and is a Hummer. Also, the rear door on the Hummer opens from the side, not the top like the 4 Runner - - something to think about if you parallel park, tailgate or load the tailgate in the rain (the 4 Runner's will provide some cover for you).

Hummers are more expensive, but in 5 years, 4runners are more expensive, plus more reliable, more powerful (new H3 with v8 will be out soon, though), better fuel economy and more versitile. Seems like there is no choice.

Any body can buy a Toyota "cookie cutter"
H3 is all about the off-road statement.
