Thank!
Bottom line: I just don't buy the idea that rotors will warp on a new vehicle. On a GM it always took me about two years. I buy the idea that Toyota said they replaced them. That's where my faith ends.
I once took a Chey truck in with a daze worth of problems all covered by warrantee. The truck was ready in 2 hours.
It didn't look like they touch a thing.
Who knows what they really do?
Toyota just loves to take you for a FREE ride back to where ever the heck you came from so you aint snooping around while they do their magic. Call me a skeptic.
But the 07 just might get dinged by CR next year.
We'll have to wait and see.

You're not the only one with the gas tank thumping. I've assumed is was loose, but upon inspection, I can't see any signs of looseness. I also thought it might be the spare tire in the trunk, so I took it out and tested. The noise is still there. Definitely coming from the fuel tank area. I've chosen to ignore it because I don't think it's a sefety hazard. Hope I'm right. My '07 camry (built on one of the kentucky lines) is by far the worst car I've owned. I've had a HUGE laundry list of problems with brake rotors, bad ECU, bad ECU software, stained paint, interior panels coming loose, squeaks, rattles, 3 failed struts at 30,000 miles, etc. But despite how terrible the car is, I would still consider buying a Toyota vehicle in the future (after LOTS of careful research, mostly in this forum) because the dealer has been so good (Thousand Oaks Toyota in CA). With every oil change, I bring them a new list of things to fix, and they have been very good about fixing it al under warranty. Thought the 36000 mile warranty is almost up... I'm scared...

I under stand your frsutrations on this issue. I to had a problem similar to this when my wife I bought a Jeep. Here is what we did. We asked a certified mechanic to look into this. Get a Lemon Law lawyer. They will provide you with a mechanic that will vouch for the troubles. Trust me it works, but the process will take long. We ended up keeping the car and documented every issue. When we took Jeep to court we ended up winning 25K. The mechanic was called to the stand and verified the issue. Needles to say I got the same repsonse from the dealer like you have. They will continue to try and fix the problem and documented as such. The lemon law states it has to be the same problem. The car dealers know this so they write it up differently. Be very careful what you sign because these million dollar compaines have good lawyer and will try to wah this out as it not being a lemon. Stick to your guns and get leagal advise and a certifed mechanic that deals with lemon laws. This is the only thing that will help

Thanks for the reply and sorry this took almost a year
I got a good deal on replacement Bridgestones, DONT ASK ME WHY
I purchased 4 Potenza G-009. Performance all seasons. They look nice and got a steal on them. Local Bridgestone dealer gave me a milesage trade in deal and I had only 14K on my OEM Turanzas. I couldnt afford Michelin A/S at $625.00 so
i got the G-009s for $250 or so.
The tires are HORRIBLE. They shake and shummy for ahile before balancing out but even then they still wobble. I saw one of the Bridgestone guys a few months ago at a coffee shoip and he recognized me and told me to bring them in so they could check, even though I got them closer to homw. Ill take it in next week whgen I get off overnight shift, hopefully Ill respond here with any results.

I've had a shimmy in my 07 LE since new at highway speeds. It drives me nuts. I brought it to the dealer twice....the camber and two are exactly right. I also brought it to Tire Kindgom and they agree...the alignment is perfect. It only now has 23000 miles on it. I am thoroughly disgusted. This is my 4th Camry....the others were flawless. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have a look at the 2007 Toyota Camry Problems and Repairs discussion. Search for transmission problems and see if that's what you are experiencing. There's a search box on the gray bar above and below the post listing.

Bent rim? Tire out of round? Tire out of balance?
