Article comments for At Home in the 2007 Bentley Arnage T - You can always live in your car," goes the adage I've heard my whole life, "but you can't drive your house." It's an aphorism friends shove at you as you're signing up for 72 months of payments on a BMW you can't afford. (more)

To W.O. or not To W.O. by douglasr

VdV: "To W.O or not to W.O...." that is the question. W.O. Bentley spent many an hour behind the wheel of his cars across the Routes National in France...often cat-napping aside the road. The thrill is in the driving and hopefully you will get to do some of that...

I have a client that used to have a Arnage T. Man was that a beast of a car. Some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in though and you could feel the weight of its presence as it drove up the driveway.

Before you take the article seriously, you'd be wise to note the date that it was posted. I have definately lived in worse places though!

That was a very funny article. That type of situation reminds me of other ironic situations I see in life, where one's pursuit of an ideal leads to the exclusion or destruction of other important things. I think a Range Rover is a more suitable vehicle to live out of, because the seats lay flat, and there are a host of camping accessories, tents and the like, that turn it into the Ritz for homelessness. With the offroad capability, one can also get to more secluded living quarters where the chances of being busted for vagrancy are less.

Yeah the Range Rover is probablyb better. It would be even better if you could get one of the euro spec rovers with SAT TV.

This is perhaps the extreme indulgence of a car enthusiast, who accepts extraordinal contrast of homeless situation with utmost luxury in automobile. Normal thinking will lead to a camping car, which has more utility than Arnage, but his experience will last forever in his life, which is very important. However, I bet he will sell this car in less than a year.

I was in a similar circumstance once, except it was an "84 Subaru, not a Bentley.

The saying "You can live in your car but you can't drive your house" was just a figure of speech but now you have proved it true. I love the article. Great choice of car to live in but i think maybe a Range Rover or a Cayenne Turbo would have been more practical and you would have saved a few bucks.

Does a 10 month road trip in a Quest count? It was too full of bikes and camping equipment to actually sleep in so we always drug the tent out. (link)
