First Drive: 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible - Punch line or not, the Chrysler Sebring has had a lot of takers. It's been the best-selling convertible in the U.S. for seven of the past 11 years, so maybe the joke's on us. (more)

Full Test: 2008 Chrysler Sebring Limited Convertible - s with so many things, it probably begins with looking good. And the Sebring Limited Convertible has the looks to attract many suitors, with a long, smartly styled hood matched to a high-waisted profile. (more)

Is it me...or is this thing just plain ugly? Its not proportioned at all, has no sporty flair....it just exists.
Id take the G6 or anything in its class before Id drive the Sebring. It looks as if Chryslers styling consistency stopped with the Charger/300.

You wouldn't want the G6 once you drive it. The Sebring is better in many ways.

Remember who it's target market is - it ain't anyone under 40.

I agree this car does nothing for me. The proportions are all wrong and then there are those silly creases on the hood that are just trying too hard. I am sure there is a market out there for these, but I am guessing it is with the blue hairs that just want a topless car to take to Bingo on Sunday nights.

I think the car looks good and the pricing makes it competitive. I wish the car was available sooner for test driving. Its spring and Chrysler is losing potential sales when convertibles should be hot sellers. Tell them to get the car out to California asap!

I agree. I'll be interested in the mid-level model with the small six or the base model with an optional six. Why they even attempted to put a four in this size car is beyond belief. This is a nice looking car and like all Sebrings, Impalas, etc. it will have a huge depeciation so I won't waste money on a new one but will wait about six months or so until the ex-rental cars come on the market. I should be able to get one for around 15k.
I will also get a Chrysler extended warranty. I'm looking forward to it. Sounds like a perfect convertible and I was impressed with the noted lack of flex. I briefly owned (for 300 miles until I could dump it)a 2006 Solara convertible. Shook all over the place and rode very stiffly. My 2001 Malibu rode like a Cadillac compared to it. Beautiful finish, interior, and workmanship but not comfortable to drive at all.

When you try and order a brochure they tell you to try later. Has anybody seen a brochure for the '08 convertible?

Yes. I was able to get one from a dealership this week. I also had the chance to drive the 2.7 litre. I was a firm solid ride. I look forward testing the 3.5 litre and seeing the hardtop when it finally gets to the Lots....

I've seen the soft/vinyl tops come out this week. Anyone seeing a hardtop yet or hear when it will be out?

Thanks - I got one from the dealer today - they just came in. I'm sorry that the base 6 isn't an option on the base model. Has anyone driven the car with the 4? I won't get a base model because of the lack of a Driver Information Program. I like to know the gas mileage. I guess the 4's are going to be mostly rental cars. I hope that I'll be able to get a program Touring in a year or so when they start to be available.

Sebring Convertible hardtop 3.5L to arrive June 08/2007 on dealer lots by flash11

New 2008 Sebring Convertible hardtops to arrive on lots June 08/2007. The high gas prices will kill the sales on the 3.5L engine with 16-18mpg city. Chrysler execs still have not gotten the message that they need to offer as a choice their diesel engine in this car to blow away the competition in gas mileage and torque. As of today in Indianapolis Indiana, regular unleaded is $3.49/ gallon, typical fillup is $61.00 on a 16 gallon tank,in the rest of the country it is as high as $4.30/gallon (California). But with regular diesel remaining low in price at $2.65/gallon it makes it affordable to drive plus most of all it bumps the gas mileage up from 16mpg to approximately 25mpg city (see the Liberty diesel or Grand Cherokee 3.0L diesel gas mileage ratings), 32mpg highway (and boosts it best estimate to 275-290 hp and 290 ft.lbs torque) if using the same engine they put in the Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel 3.0L or the Jeep Liberty diesel which they will reintroduce in mid-2008 in the Liberty. Emmissions standards are better than typical combustion engines now that they have a superior particulate filter on the exhaust system, besides VW has been selling only diesel engines in their cars for years here in the US, so what is the problem ??? Already the 3.0L Jeep Grand Cherokee diesel is doing great with very good gas mileage and power. People really want to drive this car, give us the advantages so the company can stay competitive, especially now that Daimler sold Chrysler company to an investors group.
