First Drive: 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible - Punch line or not, the Chrysler Sebring has had a lot of takers. It's been the best-selling convertible in the U.S. for seven of the past 11 years, so maybe the joke's on us. (more)
Full Test: 2008 Chrysler Sebring Limited Convertible - s with so many things, it probably begins with looking good. And the Sebring Limited Convertible has the looks to attract many suitors, with a long, smartly styled hood matched to a high-waisted profile. (more)

I was also interested in these when I first heard about them, as a possible replacement for my 1998 Sebring Jxi which I still drive everyday. It was frustrating not being able to see/drive one, and while looking at other hardtop convertibles, I noticed the common trait of NO TRUNK SPACE. I want to cruise to the beach, or home from the store with the top down and my belongings in the trunk. I ended up buying my wife the best looking convertible on the road for 2007, a Mustang GT, and kept my '98 Jxi.

This engine - used in the Touring model -once had sludge problems. Does anyone associated with Chrysler on this forum know if this is the same engine or have improvements been made to eliminate the sludge problem? I change oil every 3,000 miles at a dealer anyway regardless of what car or truck I have. I wonder if I should get the 3.5 engine instead although I won't get the hardtop convertible. I like trunk space.

Chrysler should have kept the name "Le Baron" as it said nothing of a sporting nature. On the other hand the name "sebring", when attached to this vehicle becomes offensive to me. But frankly my dear, I don't give a damn because I really like this Chrysler convertible, though in the soft top version, name or no name. It is handsome and comfortable with power more than sufficient for a touring car on American highways. The price is reasonable and I'm sure negoationable, through hungry Chrysler dealers. I would prefer that it were a Saturn Aura XR convertible, but, alas Saturn does not offer a touring size convertible. I think I'll buy one,.....as a second car to my Wonderful Saturn XR sedan, thus answering both my masculine and feminine sides. A very nice car, this Chrysler in spite of it's Ill chosen name. |
