About six years ago, my boss mentioned how people don't set their side view mirrors correctly - right, what kind of crack was he smoking? I tried his methodology (basicly setting mirrors way wide, until all you see is grass - see links below). It's amazing; this kills all blind spots in ANY vehicle (including both our Audi TT and our conversion van). The cars will pass from rear view mirror, to side mirror, to peripheral vision - you NEVER loose sight of a vehicle. TIP: Do not do this on the way to work for the first time; it will totally freak you out. Most likely, you have been driving for years, looking at the side of your car in the side view mirror. When all it shows is grass, it will completely disorient you, you won't like it and you will not give it a chance. Do it for the first time, when you have a long highway road trip. Drive with the mirrors set the old way, slow down a little and watch cars pass you on the left side. You see them in the rear view mirror, they disappear next to you and then the magically appear in your mirror/peripheral vision. Now stop at a rest stop and adjust mirrors as described below. Repeat same exercise - you never lose the vehicles in a "blind spot." BAD NEWS: The RDX's driver side view mirror does not flex to the left enough, to set propperly!! Man of man, I love my new Base RDX (3 weeks - 1,000 miles), but this is killing me! I applaud Acura for all the safety features on the RDX, but not being able to set the mirrors to prevent blind spots, is just wrong! p.s. If you are just reading about the RDX, stop what you are doing and go buy one!! My wife pressured me to spend the money, instead of buying a CRV - Thank you Baby!!!!
