I have had a black on black '03 G35 6MT since I bought it new in August of 2003. I placed an order last Friday for a new '08 6MT black on black. I went to the New York Auto Show to see this car. The looks have grown on me to the point that I see it now as a new look that will make the current car look dated - although destined to be a "classic". The dealer took my $1K deposit and guaranteed the pricing will not be above list. My order is for their second delivery which is expected mid-September.

First of all who was the source to compare both BMW models? What u are saying is not too clear. Was a G35/G37 being compared to these BMW models? It would only make sense that this comparision be done by BMW for the respected models. If both of the vehicle models being compared to eachother are BMW than it does not really matter. 2ndly the 335i is a total diff. class than the future 08 M3. I dont even know why on earth the G37 would even be compared to the M3?? Two diff classes, two different prestiges, 2 diff engines etc. If anything the G37 could be compared to 335i . Every manufacture at somepoint is going to outbeat its competitor and than another competitor is goin to outbeat them. This is how the capitalism & the market works.. Also the M3 as far as I know everything has been confirmed for it, its just not in production yet of course. The Infiniti G37 should never be compared to the M class or M3 for that matter. Night & Day difference!

I leased my 03 G35c Performance 5AT NAVI etc. one of the very first few on the ROAD at the time. Simply a beautiful car. The 08 G37c design hasnt grown on me the least bit. As far as I've seen based on the pics released etc. honestly Im very dissappointed with the results. In my opinion and for most who have exquisite taste with cars & design etc. They totally ruined the design for the G37c. It stinks to be honest with you. I was expecting at least something close to the concept for crying out loud. They rushed on this one big time, all they did was take most of the characteristics from the all new 07G35 Sedan and implement and incorproate in to the 08 G37. They spent much more time designing the new generation G35 Sedan and much less time on the 08 G37c. Just take a look at the interior, could it look any more like the interior of the G35?? Theres nothing unique, nothing sexy, nothing sharp, nothing WOW, nothing innovative or ergnomic with the new G37. I can guarantee you that this car will not do as well as the G35c when it first came out. The first generation WOWED everything when it came out, now of course almost passey. I'll wait till one arrives in the showroom and make final decision, but I highly doubt it. Pic are pics right? Anyways, good luck with the purchase! cheers! And by the way the pricing could never be above the list, thats not legal, and especially this generation I doubt there will be many willing to pay more than list. If I get one I will actually bargain for a few thousand off List, its not going to be a HOT seller as I can see. But hopefully I will be wrong. cheers again!

Hey, Toronto: I was concerned about the G37 at
first also from initial pictures that had been shown in the various magazines. But after just reading the comparo of the G37 and the BMW335i in the August issue of Motortrend, I have to say that those pictures of the car make
it look pretty darned good! I hope you'll change your mind about the G37. The G35 coupe
is a beautiful car and will be hard to follow up on. But I think the G37 will end up being a worthy follow-up.

I think you have to look at it like this. I work for Infiniti in Texas and what I hear on a daily basis is that people are having a hard time letting go of the car they've known for the past 5 years. the first gen G coupe will go down as a classic in Japanese auto and the new one is just that...new. it will take a while for people to accept that the new model has taken a classic's place. that being said...we have 80% of our new inventory pre-sold through November. People out there definitely love this car already!

I had over 50% left on my original pads at the 37.5k service. No complaints about brakes or anything else for that matter. I run 90% soutnern Cal highway miles.
