Depending on AWD or FWD, options, and what OTD means to you?

How much is it above invoice?

OTD (out the door) price, refers to total cost of 2008 limited .. FWD. I was show invoice of 31,500 + 300 (avertising) + 695 (destination).. was able to negotiate total cost to be $34,500. (options were the Floor mats & First aid kit)Which is around $800.00 below invoice. Was told that there were no rebates on 2008.

I'm picky, so if I'm going to lay down north of 30K for a vehicle, I'm going to get exactly what I want. I inquired about factory-ordering a VC. Of course the local dealer wanted to sell what was on the lot, but was also very accomodating to my wishes. He quoted a 30-60 day delivery time for the vehicle, which is about what I expected.

My problem however, lies with his insistance on including the $300 ad fee. My point is, if I'm specifically ordering the car for me, he doesn't have to advertise it. I won't pay this fee. Off the lot, sure...it's built into every sticker, but not on an order.

At the very least, it should definitely NOT be a $300 addition to the deal if it is built into the MSRP already. Shouldn't my MSRP be $300 less in this case?

This is just my opinion. Considering that posts on this board claim that they are paying up to $3K less for a 07, $800 below invoice does not sound like a great deal to me. The real question is: Do you have to buy the car now or can you wait until rebates? A FWD may be hard to sell in the winter.

Based on your note it seems that all the TTL costs came to $3K?

Any other comments from the board?
Good Luck!

I agree with you in the sense that the 2008 just came out and currently there isn't any rebates. Eventually there will be some rebates (hopefully in a few months, or sooner). I guess, I'll wait and see what happens in the near future. Thanks for your comments.

Yes you can pay off the balloon financing early with no pre-payment penalty. That is exactly what I plan to do. Could not pass up the $2000 incentive on this.

I also got the balloon financing and intend to pay it off early. There is one problem though....

HMFC seems to not want their money! My first payment is 24 hours from being late and I have not yet received ANYTHING from Hyundai. Called HMFC a week ago and they had no knowledge of my financing. Called the dealership and they claimed to have sent in the paperwork a while ago. After three days of going back and forth between the dealer and HMFC it seems like until now there was nobody at HMFC funding to sign off on the deal. Apparently they are doing some "restructuring."

I can only imagine what a nightmare it's going to be to close out my account with them.

I was really excited about Hyundai. It seems like all the effort their engineers have put into building Lexus-quality cars might go down the drain b/c of incredibly lousy service.

Just wondering if this is legal and if anyone is willing to do this. Is there any way to prove that people are getting the deals that they are saying? (Scan the sale with all of the things that we are not supposed to show (salespeople, phone numbers, etc) marked off.) The reason is this might give us (those that are still looking to buy) some more leverage. It's hard for a GM to go, "Ok, let's give him a deal just because he saw it on a discussion board.". Just curious. I am working with someone now and I could use any help that is out there. Thanks!
