Looking for further information about OnStar by eprentice

Although I really like my new Rendezvous I'm not liking the service from OnStar that I've been recieving with this vechicle. I'm not going to bore everyone with the details but sufficent to say customer service has been lacking in regards to the monthly on-line diagnostic emails.

I'm looking to escalate this problem to a director of customer service but I'm getting stalled by the reps who refuse to give me an address or even a name.

I have used the Search function here but as far as I can tell there has been no discussion started regarding this subject.

Can anyone tell me if they have a mailing address or email for the VP or Director of Customer Service/Relations? I've searched the company website but can only find the president's name.

Has anyone else experienced problems recieving the monthly diagnostics with their Buick?

I would call the Buick dealer and ask for the GM field service representative's contact info, or see when he/she will be in the dealership next. Most of them make the rounds once a month or so. The rep should be able to help you out with some kind of direct contact.

If you want to keep after them on this just hit the blue button in the car and keep asking for a supervisor or the supervisor's boss. Eventually you should get somewhere. If you are hooked in through the onstar button it's on their dime. Or you could snail mail the guy at the address here:

Ive been told that Onstar and Verizon Wireless have made a deal to offer phone service. It looks like I can add my new truck (when it comes in) as an additional phone to my Verizon shared minutes account for $9.95 per month. I talked to someone who just got their new 07 silverado. He told me that caller ID shows up on the dash display. Has anyone tried this service from Verizon and if so how does it sound coming through the stereo speakers??

This is one of the "Well done" features on my new 07 NBS silverado 1500 extended cab ltz. Look for my evaluation on most of the "TOYS" from GM available on the silverado 07 NBS. I have rough drafted a full evaluation of these "TOYS" and should have it posted soon.

Onstar Phone Evaluation
This works and works well... I made a phone call from my "PHONE TRUCK" It muted the XM and had "FM" quality sound. No offence to the actress that recorded the voice response but......

If you want to give your self a chuckle... call your cell phone from the truck phone... pick up your cell phone and say "Hello"....... LOL... I did.

I haven't saved my voice phone book yet but after I get accustom to "THE VOICE" This system will serve me very well.

I have already talked to Verizon and now all I need is my trucks telephone number from the system... give it to Verizon... they will issue me new local number on my Present verizon account.

If Im not mistaken... Adding a second phone or truck to your account just cost you $9.95 per month and the Truck or phone shares the minutes with your "Present" account.

In Conclustion: This is the facts mixed with my opinion... You should draw your own conclustions.

Finally, a reason that would actually make me consider having OnStar:

Two years later and they finally zap one. Turns out it's a "new" feature.
