Article comments for Full Test: 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP - Those of us who drove the 2006 Solstice resigned ourselves to the fact that although the car could draw the lustful gaze of fellow motorists, we'd have to shy away from stoplight challenges. (more)
I traded in a 230SLK Mercedes for a 2007 GXP Solstice thinking it was a totally awesome car. What the hell was I thinking? The car had 600 miles on it at purchase and 200 miles later began to rattle like a diesel truck. I have had it in to the dealership 4x as directed by the Attorney General but each time I get handed this flier stating my engine is suppose to rattle like this and it is "normal". Now I bet none of you would think so. I can hear the rattle outside of my car and inside when I have my stereo on which also doesn't work well and that of course is "normal" also. I have had people in parking lots knock on my window and tell me something is wrong with my car. Holy hell you think I can't hear it? So the last time I took it to George Gee here in Washington the guys in the service dept. came running out to see what the noise was and guess what - it was my car but of course General Motors won't let them touch it because you see this is "normal". Praise your Solstice all you want but I say give me my Mercedes back!!!!!!!!!!

Replying to: ibheath (Apr 04, 2008 7:16 pm) when you say a flyer....is a dealership flyer..or is it a technical service bulletin from GM.....again..time to get the regional tech rep involved here...you keep stating GM will not let them work on the car on the basis of this flyer..thus I asked if it was a TSB...regardless.....the service manager needs to get the tech rep involved....if they refuse...then call customer service....number is in the owners manual...

But, as I said, that was a long, long ttime ago... |

Replying to: lorthog (Jan 03, 2008 5:05 pm) I like to drive my car to work. I go to work in the morning. Some times I am running late and want to take my coffee with me. It's hard to shift with a cup of coffee crotched. So I use cupholders. The ones in my truck are nice and sturdy, and you can reach them. (without being double jointed) The ones in my GXP are all yucky, but I shouldn't complain? Because they kinda, sorta, tried. But cupholders are pretty tricky to design. Compared to turbochargers |
