I'll pass on that one. What you are actually paying is all confused by trade in value, interest rates, etc. but....

It is not difficult to get the supplier price. Go to your relative or friend (or friend's friend, or relatives friend, you get the picture) who is a GM employee. They can get you a certificate.

CUP HOLDERS? WHO GIVES A S**T ABOUT CUP HOLDERS? by lorthog

Okay, I thought we were reviewing a Pontiac Solstice GXP here, correct? And as I read the review it seemed that this was the case. Until the imbecile writing the review started whining about cupholders. "Uhhh, the Solstice doesn't meet my expectations because it only comes with three (3) cupholders" (!!??)

Forgive me, but what precisely is wrong with this brain damaged schmuck and all the other monkeys who judge their sports car experience by the quality of the friggin car's cupholders? This is analogous to having sex with Christina Aguilera and complaining because the bedroom was painted the wrong color. "Well, I really couldn't enjoy the sexual experience with Christina what with all that mauve paint excoriating my poor eyeballs".

Get a grip you stupid putz!

Sports cars are for driving. Fast and free on twisty roads. They are for admiring and lusting after and enjoying viscerally. They are objects of joy and passion and FUN. They are NOT for hauling 300 lbs. of cute metal sticks to a golf course or for sucking down 1/2 gallon size slurpies like giant feverish mosquitos. A little perspective please.

.....Am I wrong? F**kin a Broseph, I didn't flippin think so! Someone needs to take these cupholder fetishists and steel boot them in their pink little testicles until they shut the hell up. Cupholders...

Me too. I used to think cupholder criticism was an inside joke, until I realized that most people (here in the USA anyway) really do evaluate cars based on cupholders. This trend seems to have gotten underway in the 1990s, around the same time Americans became too fat and lazy to shift manual transmissions.

Solstice Dilema!!!!!!!! by ibheath

I traded in a 230SLK Mercedes for a 2007 GXP Solstice thinking it was a totally awesome car. What the hell was I thinking? The car had 600 miles on it at purchase and 200 miles later began to rattle like a diesel truck. I have had it in to the dealership 4x as directed by the Attorney General but each time I get handed this flier stating my engine is suppose to rattle like this and it is "normal". Now I bet none of you would think so. I can hear the rattle outside of my car and inside when I have my stereo on which also doesn't work well and that of course is "normal" also. I have had people in parking lots knock on my window and tell me something is wrong with my car. Holy hell you think I can't hear it? So the last time I took it to George Gee here in Washington the guys in the service dept. came running out to see what the noise was and guess what - it was my car but of course General Motors won't let them touch it because you see this is "normal". Praise your Solstice all you want but I say give me my Mercedes back!!!!!!!!!!

time to take it to another dealership, call Pontiac customer service, and get the regional tech rep involved....seems you bought it used...uuummm 600 miles....wonder if it was a problem with the previous owner.....

you state rattle....can you be more specific.....you might want to get some more insight over at www.solsticeforum.com as well

Could be the direct injection? I have a ticking sound that I can hear from inside with the fan and radio off. But I don't ever drive the car with the fan and radio off......

In response to stating that my car was purchased used. My car was never licensed to anyone prior to my purchase. The ticking sound I hear is constant with radio on or off. To be more specific on what it sounds like - remember being a little kid and putting a playing card in your bike spokes and riding around? That is the sound my car makes all of the time. You hear it on the outside and inside of the car. I have taken it to the only two places in Spokane that General Motors will allow to work on my car without violating my warranty. Nobody will touch it but all have admitted there is definitely a problem. I say LEMON LAW!!!!!!!!!

when you say the only two places in Spokane....does that mean there is simply two pontiac dealerships in the city?...any Pontiac dealership can perform warranty work...again..has the regional tech rep been involved yet?...if so and they refuse to do anything else...then try the BBB and begin the arbitration route....

when you say a flyer....is a dealership flyer..or is it a technical service bulletin from GM.....again..time to get the regional tech rep involved here...you keep stating GM will not let them work on the car on the basis of this flyer..thus I asked if it was a TSB...regardless.....the service manager needs to get the tech rep involved....if they refuse...then call customer service....number is in the owners manual...
