It's too bad that toyota has to try to pacify Americans by joining NASCAR. What a waste of resources. Why should toyota come up with a carbeurated, inefficient V8 engine that is much less advanced than what they already have?? Foolish, much like NASCAR. Still used UNLEADED gasoline up till last weekend, that was banned in the 70's was it not? Unleaded gasoline, carbs, only turning left? NASCAR originated by rum runners on dirt roads; I bet they turned left AND right! Stupidest thing ever - NASCAR on a road coarse. What a joke. Minivans have less body roll, and what kind of race car has that much brake dive, not to mention the nose lift with throttle. NASCAR SUCKS!! Why do we have to put up with it all bloody year?

I think NASCAR is similar to other major sports in America. Fairly dumbed down so that the least common denominator can comprehend it.

I was watching speed last year while on vacation upstate, and they were interviewing one of the "NASCAR Engineers" and they were asking him why they don't have Fuel Injection in the cars since all US "Stock" cars have FI. They ignorant guy said "Well you see, once we put them there computers in the cars there, the next thing you know they'll be cheating and putting traction control in the cars. Anytime they have a computer they can put in traction control and all kinds of things, that's why we don't have FI and computers in these here NASCAR cars"

That's the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. But I guess it's where the advertising dollars are so who are we to argue.

I did like the few years they did road courses in the rain but after they couldn't handle the rain they decided to call em if it's raining.

Pushrod engines in NASCAR. I take it that Toyota is just using a pre-done engine as they don't even make a pushrod V8 engine!

Also did anyone notice that all the cars they represent in NASCAR are FWD, yet all the NASCAR cars are RWD!

It's a riot. Good "entertainment"

Sorry about the incorrect info about the gas - it was late, and St. Patricks day. Meant to say NASCAR still uses LEADED gasoline, not unleaded. Leaded gas was banned in the 70's I believe. I think Nascar just recently started testing/using Unleaded gasoline. Morons. Why can't NASCAR use moon shine (ethanol) to power their V8's and get back to their roots - I would have more respect for them if they did!!
