Article comments for Comparison Test: 2008 Audi R8 vs. 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo - Aside from their six-figure price tags, no two cars could be more different than the new 2008 Audi R8 and the 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo. And yet here we are at the drag strip of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a shiny, new example of each. (more)

In Canada, they have also taken away the Audi Advantage and for that reason, I have planned not to buy another one when our current lease on the A6 allroad expires. Based on my experience (I have owned Mecedes, BMW, Porsche, Audi, Volvo, Saab, Honda, etc.), the problem with Audi cars is that their dealership network is not as good as Mercedes and BMW and Audi doesn't stand behind the product like the other two players. |

Good luck on spending just $600 to keep a Porche runninig for 4 years / 50k miles. Mercedes has taken a real beating in presitge an image with poor quaity cars over the last decade compared to what they once were. And BMW's aren't cheap to maintain either. Audi has vastly improved their quality and image, but can always do better. |

Posted in another forum but maybe you all would know. Looking to buy a '07 Porsche Turbo. Wondering about the quality and reliability? Always, wanted to own one but $140,000.00 plus or minus is a lot to spend on a vehicle if it is always going in the shop. Own a Lexus and love it, wondering if I should wait for the new LFA sports car to come out? Heart is with the Porsche Turbo though... P.S.: Just a note for future INFINITI buyers.....buy a Lexus....INFINITI SERVICE IS VERY BAD! I will never buy an Infiniti vehicle again due to their poor service department.

Replying to: circlew (Mar 17, 2007 3:56 pm) I purchased a new 2006 C2S in Sept 2005. I remember reading a C4 piece and it stated that the C4 was the safest car in the US. Since I live in Southern California, weather is a non-issue, but the other areas of the US with heavy rain and weather that requires a safer car, well, my opinion is that the C4 is a great choice. We Porsche 997 and 996 owners will never test the limits of our cars, PSAM or otherwise, so the little added extra weight is not important, but the extra grip seems an important issue. The Audi converts look great , next car... maybe.. Chromedome, enjoy you cars...

That is the ONLY time my AWD has shifted power to the front wheels for stability enhancement. If you ever get a chance to go to a track and drive, even at moderate speeds, a 997 GT3, I think you will change your opinion. My 911TT makes for a comfortable daily driver, but the GT3 lighter weight and handling give it a much crisper feel. And you don't need to be driving at insane speeds to feel it. C2, C2S, C4, C4S. Not really a bad choice in that group. But I'd start by recommending the C2S to anybody that asked. |

Replying to: shoes (Mar 13, 2007 10:01 am) I had driven an R8 test car and loved it. I then drove a CarerraS which I didn't think compared at all to the R8. Having said all that my 911 T gets the nod over the R8 in pure driving experience-but so very close. I'm happy.
