The Xterra has IFS as well just FYI as does the Liberty.

consider the old Freelander. You will regret it. Maybe if you can by a 2005 Freelander cheap from a Land Rover dealer with a 100,000 mile warranty.
 
Even then I would be hesitant.

I'm loving it. It handles great off the road. Don't buy a jeep if you are looking to save gas. Mine has a drinking problem. Traction control is so good 4x4 is not going to be needed much. It has plenty of strength to pull trailers but has stability issues if pulling larger cargo trailers. No problem pulling the max 5k pounds, but controling it at 75mph is another issue.
