The most exciting part of the NHL is seeing which hare-brained scheme Bettman and the idiotic board of governors he has brainwashed will contrive next. 10 years ago I thought it was hell, those days look exciting compared to today. Thank heavens for lower level hockey. For the experience, one must attend the ice...for tactical observation, TV is best. Thank heavens again for CBC.

It might not always work out in the postseason, but the overall quality of play is unmatched. The D anchored by Lidstrom is solid without being stifling and boring, and the forward lines are always competent too.

Probably most of that was attributed to Sega Genesis, and how many small bets I won along with the Chicago Blackhawks in NHLPA 93 and a mock championship belt I would proudly get to wear around my waist quite often. -Rocky P.S. Who's your NHL squad ???

Replying to: rockylee (Jan 13, 2008 10:31 pm) Canada has retained its grasp on the game, although without European contributions to the talent pool, the NHL would be an even bigger joke today, with its bloated number of teams. I wonder if the coming hard economic times along with the stronger Canadian dollar will make those teams kept alive by corporate ticket purchases and tax dollars look even more foolish.
