I took my 2000 Taco in for an inspection last Saturday and they said I just had surface rust, no holes, so they would not buy it back. Mine looked pretty bad underneath, but with no holes = no buyback. Guess I have until 2015 until the rust warranty runs out. Maybe the frame will fall apart by then.

| Am in the middle of the process and so far hasn't been great. The day they took my truck, They called me at work to say they were taking it off the road as unsafe. Problem was they had no more rentals and couldn't get me one until the next day(turned out to be two days). Told 5 -7 days would be contacted, but 15 before the guy from ISG finally left a message. had questions, but can't get to him because he works the same hours and message says he'll call back in 24 hours. Not wanting to deal with phone-tag decided to call back to Toyota. They give you the "it's out of our hands" thing. Asked what I'm suppose to do if this isn't done when rental runs out, since i am already 16 days in and letter isn't due to arrive until end of week at earliest. They said I would have to take that up with the dealer who set up the loan. Dealer said it would have to be set up with Toyota. Hmmm? Have also had the problems with leaf springs others mentioned. Had planned on another 4 - 5 years with it since it only had 170000 miles. Now out to search for car, but will avoid Toyota. Customer service is poor. | |

As I said in a previous post I had to send ISG a copy of my reg. I have herd nothing since. Been about 2 weeks now. I am not even sure that they got the fax. I have proof that it was sent, but did it get to the guy who called me? It is getting frustrating. I want this over and I have no clue about what to buy next. Toyota says it's out of their hands??? That's just great!!! This will go on for awhile. |

| So somebody told me about this recall on my toyota frame. I came home and looked for some info online but found very little. So I wrote a email to the toyota company itself to which they emailed me back and called me the very next day. They told me to go to the local dealership for an inspection and they would call me back in a week or so. I went to the dealership and they told me they had a lot of appointments and were backed up until July...that is until I said I had spoke to the toyota company and they were calling me back in a few days to which they then gave me a appointment for two days later. I went to the appointment today and my truck failed because there were holes in the frame. If there are no holes they will probably pass your vehicle. So make sure there are holes in it. Anyways, they let me drive my truck off of the lot which upset me because I believe it to be unsafe to drive so I called the guy I talked to before at the toyota company and he told me I was to go back to the dealership tomorrow and get a rental car, that I should have never been able to drive away in my truck for safety reasons, He then told me ISG (not ISP) will call me in a week and if they don't to call him back. The guy at the toyota company has been great. I will let you all know how the rest of the process goes and how quickly. | |
| has anyone actually received their buyback chk $ yet? Was their any negotiating done on the final figure$$? How long was the whole process from inspection to $$? What types of rentals is Toyota offering? and for how long? Afterall it is we, the consumers' who have had to turn in our pickups, driving a Corolla rental doesn't seem comparable.. Any thoughts? What about taking the good tires off 1st, etc.....?? | |

Replying to: acer3 (May 01, 2008 5:54 pm) This is Toyotas #. I called as I have herd nothing from ISG. They gave me a case # and are supposed to call back tomorrow. The reps at toyota were very helpful. Give it a try. |
