you simply have, simple probs. care issues. if you love the ride and handle there really are no "true" issues. take your suv to the dealer you got it and be sure you ask for a manager and do not nudge. if you did not assume your vehicle from a dealer still go to one. a high volume one. the leading sellers fix a lot of small things free. just takes your time and patience. i assure you will get your belt issue fixed. seat belts that prolong are because of the way thet are taken care of... like anything else on a vehicle. my educated guess is that it got wound up wrong and now the auto is slow and sloppy.

and your tires. go to an only tire outlet like discount tire. they will for sure let you know what needs to be on your suv. be sure to realize that many people put tires on that do not suite the drive on many vehicles.
fyi. take all your concers to a high end selling dealer. get a service manger or finance manger...

Hi Classy,
I purchased a 2003 Mountaineer with 4.0 litre in 2004 with 18K miles. It was a dealer/program car. I only have 45K on it now. I had to have the OEM tires all replaced by 25K miles. Maybe they were old to begin with and just dry-rotted as my dealer claimed. At about 35K miles I had wheel bearings on right side replaced. At the same time I had front brakes and the right front transaxle repaired. That was an expensive trip to the dealer. Now, I hear noise from the left front (transaxle). Besides these issues, this has been a great vehicle. Very functional and comfortable, all switch gear works fine, seats fold well and provide volume to haul, nice riding and handling (All Wheel drive). Need to remember to rotate tires often with AWD. Wish I had a better towing capability. It is only 3300 lbs. with the 4.0 engine and final gear ratio. No problems with the engine or transmission. This is really my wife's vehicle and she would not give it up for anything other than a newer Mountaineer.
