Replying to: ceric (Apr 06, 2008 10:13 pm)  Let me clarify: The CD Changer offered by Mazda comes in two flavors - one with MP3 support that offers CD Text support (from what I've been able to learn) and one that does not. If your CD Changer shows the MP3 symbol in the upper left-hand corner of the faceplate, then you have MP3 support. If it does not, then you don't. Mazda has told me directly that the MP3 supporting CD Changer does not work with the Bose system. I don't have NAV - so it's possible that the non-MP3 supporting CD Changer with Nav does have some intermittent support of text - but my non-NAV system does not. If anyone has a CD Changer with Bose that DOES support MP3s - PLEASE post a photo of the faceplate here so we can see it. Numerous posts on this topic have been made. Mazda continues to claim that there is no MP3 support with the Bose system, a few people have submitted posts to the contrary - but have not followed up to requests to validate this. If Mazda has updated the Bose system during the current model year run such that it does support MP3 CD Changer, I would be grateful for an update on this topic.

Replying to: epicard (Apr 07, 2008 7:59 am) Also, you will have better luck when you take a commercial CD, load it to your computer so it can download the proper tag information and then burn it to another disc (in standard CD audio format). I have found that very few commercial CDs have text. |

My CX-9 with NAVI and Moonroof (therefore upgraded Bose system w/ 10 speakers and center point) does have MP3 support. It has a MP3 logo on the CD changer faceplate behind the display. And, I get CD text on some CDs, but not all. For instance, on Adrea Bocelli's new CD, it shows no text at all. |

Can you please do me a favor and send me a picture at your convenience? Mazda, my dealer, everyone I've talked to - all tell me that the Bose system (which I also have) does not support MP3 playback. eric - at - ericpicard.com (substitute the  symbol for - at - ). Replying to: epicard (Apr 08, 2008 6:57 pm) I wouldn’t blame the Mazda sales guys since these things always seem to be changing as I found instructions in the manual that conflict with sales literature: Some places say that my system is their “Centerpoint” while other places say the Centerpoint system is the one that is part of the DVD entertainment system with 5.1 sound.

I just had the Sirius receiver installed and now my Bluetooth isn't functioning properly. It seems that the voice activation and calls are going through but I'm not getting any volume. The dealership said they would contact Mazda about the problem. I'm worried they're going to try to make me purchase a switchbox and don't feel like I should have to after spending $500 for the Sirius. How can I get the Bluetooth back up and running since it's one of my favorite and most used features?

| Same thing happened to me... You have to take it back and have them wire it correctly. They gave me some crap excuse about a different wiring buss. When I got the car back it was fixed including some extra scratches on the dash and now a power outlet that didn't work. Took it to another dealer and learned that they just hadn't connected it! I've never seen such clowns and what I've had to deal with on this audio system. My advise...just go to another dealer...and don't bother with the one your using now! PS: You won't be able to use your i-pod connector anymore unless you fork out another $200 for another black box. | |
