I have no such issue with my Moto V3 and CX9.

My suggestion is to narrow down whether it is the phone or the CX9.
To tell, borrow another Bluetooth phones (other brand, carrier, etc) and try again.
It might be the phone. If not, get the CX9 looked at by the dealer.

I don't have that issue with by Blackberry 8830.

Why don't you start the car and then manually dial a number with the phone with the keypad (not via voice command). Wait until the person answers or the CX-9 connects via bluetooth to the phone.

If the bluetooth connection to the car doesn't happen until there is an answer on the other end, then I suspect the phone is not making the connection until there is a connection. If I perform this same action with my phone, the connection gets established with the car during the ringing, pretty much as soon as I press SEND.

What phone do you have? Is it set for "headphone" or "headset" mode? Ceric is correct. Try some other model of phone and see if you get the same results. There is a thread online here with everyone who have stated which phones they've been successful with connecting.

MP3 Functionality/Folders by elerner61

On the Bose system with NAV, the manual alludes to being able to view folders and pick one. This would be much better than only being able to move sequentially from folder to folder on a CD with MP3's.

Has anyone figured out if this can actually be done? How do the folders/subfolders have to be organized? Thanks!

I have a Motorola V3. I took it to the dealer and they confirmed the problem by having one tech call another in the vehicle using their cell phones (not mine).

They said they need to call Mazda to troubleshoot and determine how to handle. Thanks for the responses.

sirius addition by dan0909

just an FYI that the dealer explained to me that my new CX-9 is sirius ready. The cost to hook up sirius is $700 (ouch) and that includes a switch box so that the aux input is preserved. It sounds like they had done them the way several earlier posts described (loss of the aux input) and decided this was better. That's a lot of money for SAT radio, but I've become quite used to it and in a new car, I can't see cutting the corner and adding a dash mounted unit. ---now if there were only an easy fix for MP3s with the bose system.

For those that installed the dice link kit, do I need the switch box in order to have the dicelink and the aux port to work?

iPhone not working with aux input by mcardld

Just got a new GT w/ Nav, w/ Bose and w/o Sat. I'm trying to use the aux jack to play music with my iPhone. When the cable is plugged in, the system recognizes it because the display changes to the generic "AUX" screen. However, I don't get any sound. iPhone works fine through its own speakers when it's not plugged in. I am using a Belkin aux plug cable that is designed for use with the iPhone. Any ideas? Thx.

You need to dial up the volume by 2X to hear it. Also, our your iPhone volume to max. This seems like bad integration to me. I still think Bluetooth is a better solution than aux jack. A2DP profile is needed. The new CX9's BT support A2DP profile (w/ GT model, I think)

Be careful when you switch it back to other sources (CD or FM), it may become too loud.

I just bought a 2008 CX-9 GT from a non-Mazda dealer. It has moonroof, 6 CD changer, some type of upgraded Bose system, no MP3 logo, no nav, DVD players in the headrests, a cable in the glove box which must plug into a phone or iPod?, no satellite antenna on the rear of the vehicle, an antenna on the uppoer windshield which looks like the XM antenna on my Subaru, a Bluetooth phone button on the steering wheel... which I think is all of the relevant info. Nearest Mazda dealer is 2 hours away.

The questions are: do I have satellite radio? If I hit the SAT button, it does nothing.

Is the antenna on the windshield for the Bluetooth?

What is the cable in the glove box?

I have a new 2008 Mazda cx9 GT. The bluetooth set=up went OK. I would like to use the IPod portion of the phone through the AUX jack but also want to have sirius radio installed to play throught he Bose Radio system. What do I need to do? What needs to be installed?
