More tips...sure...

Always wear seat belts.

and don't give rides to strangers even if you want to show off your sexy CX-9
I'll pass them along as I discover them. I've only had the car 5 days so far.

Can I Tranfer My Previous Sirius Account by mescalero

Hello Friends, I just got my Mazda CX-9 this past Saturday and I can honestly say it a great ride with a great color (Black Cherry Mica), that turn heads. I do need some info about the Sirius Radio though, I had the Sirius Radio on my previous Truck, so when I got the CX-9, I chose not to get it. My question though, is this. Is the radio in the CX-9, Sirius Ready? Can I just tranfer my previous sirius account to this CX-9 and ask them to activate it, or do I have to get the Mazda dealer to hookup the radio to make it Sirius Ready? Please advise.

I have no answers for you since I have no experiences with sat radio.
However, I have sent Mazda several questions, and they replied with good information. So,

You need to have the Mazda Sirius DLP (downlink processor) installed in your vehicle. If this was not on the CX-9 when you bought it,you 'll need to have it installed or install it yourself. Once you have it (and the corresponding ESN), you can add it to your Sirius acct and/or delete your truck.

If you aren't sure if you have it already, just look for the small, flat antenna just above the rear hatch on the passenger side..

Thanks Guys for a quick response to my post, it good to read from knowledgable people. Tell me Maltb, this DLP is it like the flat disc attached to a lenghty wire that comes with the portable Sportster Sirius Radio Receiver, which is what I had in my old truck. If that's what it is, how do I install it to the factory radio on the CX-9.
By the way, from what I've read about the problem using iPod or any MP3 device with the factory installed Sirius Radio and the Nav System, I might just stick to the Sirius Sportstar Radio Receiver.

You'll want to get a whole new account. I think Mazda gives you six months free if you activate a new subscription. Be warned that you may experience issues with the installation of the Sirius, such as losing blue tooth capability. Hopefully the Mazda people finally know about this problem. You can keep your current Sirius receiver if you want to run it that way but I personally like the wireless, receiver less format.

No, that flat disc is just the antenna. The DLP is a black box that gets buried in the car and connects to the head unit. As far as I know, the Bluetooth issue has been corrected with a small harness but your dealer should know.

As far as the iPod connectivity goes, if you have factory NAV, the iPod integration module will not work but you can connect any audio accessory (iPod, MP3 player, aftermarket SAT, etc.) through the AUX jack.

To answer this question you need a Sirius reciever and antena. The button is on the radio but, there is nothing to activate.

Cx-9 Bluetooth problems by millet4

My cx-9 bluetooth was working just phone until last week, now the phone light does not light on the console, and the system never see's any phone. Here is what I have done

Deleted all phones
Added each phone again - (the process works, my phone gets the mazda blue tooth device added - I even deleted the device from the phone and synched again)
Tried to synch the phone to the car and get the same message on both phones device unavailable or not powered up. Now during the adding options the system saw the phones but they never connect.

As a sanity check I tested both phones with a bluetooth headset and they work, so I do not have a phone problem. The dealership wants me to drop the car off for a day for them to look at it. There must be some type of system reset I can perform. Any ideas?
