Somebody dusted the place off here....   The big news in this area is we're about to get NJ's first Sonic. Funny - they're putting it a fair bit off the beaten path. We will see. At least now I'll see what one is. They advertise like mad on the tube but there aren't any here yet. If you're doing the museum and monuments thing, we've stayed at the JW Marriot on PA Ave. About a block from the White House, you can walk to practically everything, and those things you can't, or don't want to walk to are as near as the Metro station just around the corner.   We're starting our vacation in DC this year

I took my litle nieces to a Sonic once at their request several years ago. They weren't happy I wouldn't let them eat in the car, I guess that's what they liked best about it.   And whatever I ended up eating was greasy and just not very good. So I haven't been back. i live on a hiway know for it's many trails to the great west and it is hiway 24/40 and runs thru the west all the way to cal. some people use it to get to sturgis every year. and the sonic is the favorite stop of all the local car clubs because it still has the car hops and at alot of them around here anyway the girls still were roller skates now how cool is that. go on a sunday and step back to a simpler time

a new shell station just open down the street. it has some fast food joint called champs chicken and they also have frog legs which for me is a new fast food item. the chicken is not bad. has anyone heard of these guys before.

Replying to: fezo (Jul 01, 2007 6:14 pm) We must have had one of the worst run Sonics... not only in Louisville, but the world. About 3-5 years ago, a Sonic opened about half a mile from my house. Great, handmade milk shakes I thought... yum yum. I gave them a try, with no one else in line I "only" had about a 10 minute wait, shake was pretty good though, delivered by some lady on roller skates. After that is was all downhill. Long waits for food, the chocolate not blended into the vanilla with the milkshakes. It was out of business, the building demolished and hauled away within a year and a half.
