What really makes it crazy is it is on a car that being a 2002 I am assuming is out of warranty so there are a good possibility of some customer pays in the future.   The whole idea of the free oil change gig is to get the car in the shop so they can see if they can sell you some other service.   Hell they just got a couple billion form the guv you think they could afford an oil change. If they couldn't find a dozen things that need fixing I would be shocked. But you are right, they really shot themselves in the foot as I was planning on spending my wait on the oil change looking around their lot for my wife's next car. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
