Audi A5 DSG by rbasso

Has anyone heard any rumors about audi coming out with the DSG gearbox on the A5? I understand the TT and new Q5 have them already. Looking at the new 2009 A5, but would rather wait if DSG may arrive in mid 09. Any thoughts or links?

Can anyone tell me how much to pay for a 2008 A5, S-Line pkg with 8000 miles?
Or is there any good deal out there for a new one?
Thanks.

I think it really depends on your location. Local dealer in my area is still charging MSRP for A5's. But, there is no competing dealer nearby either...

i've just been trolling cars.com for used a5's with the distance filter to 'all' for an idea of what's available and at what price. seems like a big range in prices depending on location, with s-spec'd, premium, etc. being lower priced than base models when not limiting to specific city or region. this won't tell you what to pay but will give an indication of what's being asked.

one concern i've got about this idea is the uncertain reliability of new models - any thoughts?

Thanks. Yeah I have concerns about forst MY relibility as well, but since its still got remaining warranty it might not be a problem afterall. Not sure yet.
Perhaps its safer to get a new one.... meteor grey or aruba blue with black-white interior. Love the sprint blue, but no available with std A5, that really blows.

A5 S line tires by chirad

Hello,
I live in chicago and recently got a 2009 A5 with S line package. I've got 19" tires. They are dunlop sport maxx gt. With chicago winters does anyone have any info on if i should switch to winter tires/all season. My dealer recommended the michelin pilot sport but i went to a tire shop and they said i would be okay with my dunlops???
thanks

Chirad, I can tell you this: stay off the dumb Dunlops. I'm not sure how bad Chicago winter is, but I heard its really bad. Put it this way, the SportMaxx are NOT recommended for winter driving in my area, which normally consist of no more than 8 inches of snow at worst. If you choose Michelin Pilot Sports make sure you get the Pilot AS (all season), which in my case, works perfectly fine on my Acura TSX. The only weakness, apart from price, is that Michelins wear off rather fast, probably a trade off for the soft ride. Another good choice imo is the Bridgestone Turanza, which is slightly stiffer than michelins, hurting ride a bit, but has better threadlife. Pirelli's PZeros are decent, but produce too much tire noise, which can get annoying imo.
A5s come with awd, so getting all season might work, depending on weather condition that is. If you dont mind swapping tires for winter, I'd recommend Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires. I dont know how good other snow tires are, so cant help you with them, sorry.
For more such infos I recommend you checking Tirerack's website, it's got a chart where customers rate the tire's noise, thread wear, ride, etc.
Seriously, there's no point in having AWD if the tires get no traction. Hope this helps.

Audi A5 lease by momscar2

I am looking for any help that I can get regarding lease pricing for an audi a5? I am new to this site, everyone seems to be very honest. That being said, I live in long island new york and I am desperate for help. If anyone could give me any information on current lease prices for this car (premium package and nav.) that I can compare to quotes that I will get, I would be grateful.

Planning to order a new A5 - relatively loaded; cash buy. Is MSRP about the best I can hope for at this time?

Thanks.
