To quote Peter Sellers in "Murder By Death":
"BRP Can-Am Spyder like television on wedding night: not necessary."

Like a motorcycle with training wheels; no street cred at all.

Aditionally, it lacks the ability to "lane split", but it has all the downside of a motorcycle - and will get you laughed at by guys who aren't afraid of two wheels. Pointless.

about time. I've been wondering for the last 20 years when something like this would be built.

on the other hand, (ttbuyer), it has almost all of the joys of a motorcycle, w/o the most dangerous aspects of a motor cycle. (and lane-splitting isn't allowed in PA anyway)

As a rider of 30+ years, there's no way I would compare it to a motorcycle as either competition or riding experience, but that's not a slam. To me it looks like a fun, street-legal toy and there's nothing wrong with that. I can see a 40+ crowd buying it, and snowmobilers should love it for the non-sledding months. It's a specialty vehicle, not meant for everyone and shouldn't be taking heat from "righteous riders" or insecure posers. It's a toy, and it looks like fun

I took these photos today at a snowmobile show in Albany, NY that BRP/Can-Am was at.

I will say that it felt very comfortable (sitting still!)

I took one look at the Spyder Website and went straight to the local dealer and put a deposit down. This thing will be a blast! I am 76 and have been riding nearly 60 years. Can't wait!.
