I have a 2001 Savana and the check engine light came on, I took it to the dealer and they said that I need a new fuel tank evaporator canister and a purge solenoid and it would cost $830.00. I got the parts (OEM) on line for $160.00 and replaced them but the check engine light remains on. HELP

I'm considering purchasing a 9 passenger low top GMC Savana Regency conversion van, but am apprehensive about towing our trailer with it. We tow about 6000# with our Suburban and it's no problem. The Savana that we're looking at indicates that it has towing capabilities of 10,000#. forget about it, evaporator problems are usual and don't effect on driving. I've got the same trouble more than year, nothing happens
